Dining in The Granary Café is a unique experience. The menu inherits the same comfortable, eclectic and contemporary style as Liz Biden’s hotel interiors. Executive Chef Veronica Canha-Hibbert and her team believe in good, honest and approachable food that showcases seasonal, local ingredients.

Not a single thing can be faulted. From the welcome you receive upon entering, to the fantastic waiting staff. The food was impeccable, and we enjoyed the little in-between surprise courses that we did not expect. You get the fine dining experience with reasonable portions. Our waiter recommended the most amazing dishes, and he was friendly and provided a great experience.

My husband and I celebrated our 15-year wedding anniversary and thought it would be special to celebrate it at the Silo Granary Cafe. I have been there before for high tea, and it was excellent. However, we found our dining experience to be somewhat disappointing. We waited unusually long for our food considering that the restaurant was not very busy on the evening. The food was ok not spectacular as I expected. My husband ordered the chilli prawn pasta which was bland with no chilli in sight. I ordered the beef and cauliflower that I asked for medium, but it was way over cooked and quite dry. I enquired whether the restaurant was halaal or at least halaal friendly which they confirmed it was, however, most of the sauces that the meals offered were not halaal as they had alcohol in them. An alternative sauce was not offered. So, I found my beef to be very dry without a sauce to relieve it. Our waiter was lovely but unfortunately did not know the menu well and so could not offer recommendations when asked and often had to find out from the chef before answering any culinary questions I had about the menu. While the restaurant and overall ambience was beautiful, the dining experience was definitely not one of our best experiences sadly.

A special experience and very nice atmosphere, best combined with a visit in the museum downstairs.
