Established in 1964, the Rondebosch Hussar Grill is one of the oldest grillrooms in the country and is a true Capetonian favourite that has been serving the finest South Africa beef to generations of loyal and dedicated guests for the past 50 years. Situated in the leafy suburb of Rondebosch, the restaurant is filled with character and embodies the finest of grill room traditions.     We have going there for over 40 years. Food normally great but very disappointed with meal. 400 gr Ribeye eoyh marrow butter. This was a very low quality cut. No manny sinues I had to leave a good third on the plate. Hacked off all I could but ainues everywhere. So bad that I wondered if it was an actual ribeye. Explained to waiter when he cleared out plates. Showed him the sinned left over but got no response from kitchen. We paid and left but sadly will not hurry back. Standards have dropped.

    It's been many years since I last visited Hussar Rondebosch, and returning with an old friend for dinner, brought back fond memories from our youth. Hussar was everything I remembered it to be, from great food to efficient and friendly staff. Cheers Peter

    We had the Tuesday date night special and really enjoyed it. The food was great with a good choice and excellent value for money.

    I expected more unfort from such an upmarket establishment. The fish was tasteless, the steaks were tiny and sinewy. I ordered cheesecake which looked like cottage cheese crumble and tasted like it. On the whole not the best dining experience.
