Each walk differs according to the season, winery and farm activities that are happening at the time. Start with tea, coffee and an arrival at 9h30, and end of with a tasting of our estate wines at around 12h00. R180 pp

LIVE MUSIC PERFORMANCES:

Dance of the Footnote. Over the last two years Philip Myburgh, Jenny Hall and Jonny Blundell have co-composed a number of songs as part of a musical journey titled ‘ the dance of the footnote’ . They return to The Kraal after 2 sell-out shows earlier this year.

Jenny (on guitar, piano and vocals) and her husband James (on fiddle and vocals) will perform the songs that are the fruit of the collaboration. ‘ Jenny and James’ are the well-known duo who regularly perform in and around Cape Town. As part of the show Philip will be telling the story of the songs, a story that spans many decades from his days as a student to the present.

Farm and Winery Walk at Joostenberg

Guided walks on Joostenberg Estate are led by the winemaking team. Each walk varies depending on the season, as well as the winery and farm activities taking place at the time. The experience begins at 09h30 with tea, coffee and a welcome pastry, and concludes at around 12h00 with a tasting of our estate wines. R180 per person.

Kitchen Skills Workshops- Fundamental Sauces.

Inviting curious cooks to step into our kitchen at The Kraal. Behind the scenes insight, specialised expertise and professional tips will be shared by the chefs. Each interactive workshop is unique and is focused on a specific theme or skill. Learn to make a few basic, versatile and delicious sauces that can take a dish to the next level. Price R575 pp. Includes coffee on arrival and a complimentary wine tasting after the workshop.

    I went there for the Farm Walk & Wine Tasting which was time well spent and an enjoyable experience. Management / Owners and the staff are professional and friendly and they have lovely wine. I shall definitely go back to have lunch at The Kraal after having heard more about it.

    My husband and I loved everything about our visit to Joostenberg Winery. The food and wine are delicious, and the owners and staff are very welcoming and hospitable. It honestly felt like we were visiting friends. We will definitely visit again and we recommend Joostenberg Winery, the Kraal Restaurant and the organised Farm walk to anyone looking for a wonderful meal and outing.
