The Kraal Restaurant at Joostenberg Wine Estate, is a laid back, farm restaurant, serving slow, seasonal lunches and organic Joostenberg wines. Tables are set between fruit and olive trees in the shaded, stone walled courtyard in summer, and inside the cozy, rustic wagenhuis in winter.

Allow some time to enjoy a relaxed, informative tasting of our wines and to stroll through the werf garden and admire the authentic, original Cape Dutch architecture.

    it is a very nice place, the restaurant is very private and cosy, located in a beautiful courtyard; the individual dishes were very lekker, but the meat could have been a little more tender...

    A lovely farm to fork experience with excellent service. The food was simple but tasty and generous. The wine pairing was so affordable and we loved the stories behind each organic wine that we tried. We were a little bit disappointed to be seated in a courtyard rather than in the orchard we read about but will definitely go back in the winter to try that experience.

    This weeks meal was particularly good. The duck was smokey and delicious and the salads so interesting and varied. The service was improved from the previous time we ate at The Kraal - also the portions were bigger. Overall a wonderful Sunday afternoon lunch.
