The cuts of meat was not the best quality. The kebabs and the steak had think fat and sinew. We were promised that cocktails would be made at our table, but it never happened. The table was wobbly and had newspaper underneath the legs to balance it out. The waitor was friendly but we felt rushed. My expectations were not met.

With its hidden entrance through a bookshelf, this is a novel restaurant for something different to do in JHB. The decor and ambiance is great and the restaurant is filled with a constant loud chatter. The food was good, but not great. The waiter was ok, but our food took long to come. The cocktails are interesting and delicious. So not sure, Id say it was amazing overall, but definitely something different for sure!

What a lovely experience. The food was excellent; we order a varied selection from the menu, and enjoyed every dish, Our waiter, Phillip was very attentive, friendly and professional. We loved everything on the evening and will most definitely be back.

Very disappointing experience. The ambience was great, but the food was very bland. We felt very rushed by our server, who also had a bad attitude.

Unfortunately this was a disappointing experience. I was so excited to try this place as my partner had been a few times before and raved about it, but it was such a let down. The restaurant is beautiful, well decorated, clean and the vibe is great. The service was really good and our waiter was attentive and friendly. BUT the food was really underwhelming and tasteless. Out of the 7 dishes we had, we only somewhat enjoyed 3, the complimentary guacamole, the pulled pork taquito starter and the desert. The tamales main was only 1 very small portion and it was a sad, over cooked, dry and tasteless dish. The sea bass fillet was a nice piece of fresh fish but the rest of the dish was again quite tasteless and didn’t really work. The truffle fries were undercooked and again, really no taste, and the savoury churros were a disaster (cold, odd texture and no taste) - my partner and I shared one and couldn’t eat the rest. The margaritas, wine and craft beer we had were nice. We did let our waiter know that we weren’t really happy with the food and they did make a nice gesture of not including our desert on the bill. It’s such a shame as this place has the potential to be an absolute gem, but the food needs serious work. My partner said that the standards have declined significantly since he went last.
