I definitely think that there should be more savories for iftaar because each person got 1 spring roll. I also feel that there should be more of a variety to choose from as the options were VERY limited. The food was yummy but it definitely lacked a bit of flavor. There should also be a bigger dessert/ tea selection as there was no other drink options except for water (which was also limited to 1L per table). I really enjoyed the atmosphere and I love the fact that it wasn’t too over crowded.

Taste the Movie experience - Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone Food was average and not 'fine dining' or at least not of the caliber that I am used to, especially for the price of R1200 per person. I was anticipating being blown away with a myriad of flavours on my palate. Sadly this was not the case, small details such as carrots in the main savoury dish being extremely hard, second savoury dish of what I'm assuming where deep fried risotto balls was quite bland and presentation failed as they were made to look like the golden snitch with wings from the movie, however, one of my cheese crisp wings were broken off. The tomatoe salsa/chutney it sat on was more bottled tomatoe sauce than any other ingredient. Bread and butter was 1 course - a little more effort in selection of bread slices would have been appreciated. Each had the exact same taste (none) and texture. Toasting one or adding a herb or garlic would have elevated it slightly. I expected & preferred more savoury (3) than sweet courses (4). All sweet courses were also just that - sweet; lacking any sort of flavour profile. The sweet and savoury on the first dish didn't sit well on my tongue - the sweet edible-pictured fondant on the cracker together with the savoury cream-cheese like dip were not accordant with each other. A good pairing of drinks (and not necessarily alcoholic) with one or more courses instead of a meagre (we had to order a refill 4 times) bottle of water for the table would have been better-suited for the experience. Service & Hospitality - clean cutlery and water were not replenished timeously, dirty dishes were not cleared timeously. Courses brought out were not always in sync with the movie scene. However, Inez Essop's hospitable nature was 5 star. Overall experience was OK - the movie was great as are all Harry Potter ones. I must point out the plus's too: Creativity was definitely there - the theme of Harry Potter did not lack in the dishes - the golden snitches (other's dishes), lit butter-candle owl and Butter beer was a nice touch that I appreciated and enjoyed. The movie was entertaining however the darkness of the room made it very difficult to eat with no individual supplementary or dimmed light for time of arrival of the courses. The light from the movie was all we had to see what's on the plate, which was hardly anything. My bottom was also sore by the end of a 2 and a half hour movie sitting on hard-seated restaurant chairs. I am a foodie - I will give this experience another try, especially for the movie 'Eat Pray Love' which should be an absolute treat if small improvements are brought about. Granted this is a fairly new concept, a little bit of polishing will make it super successful.
