The beautiful Ocean Terrace restaurant, with gorgeous views across the Indian Ocean, serves a Bistro-style menu and is perfect for casual, al fresco and family dining. With something to suit every palate favourite dishes include freshly baked pizzas from the wood-fire pizza oven, sustainably sourced seafood and a host of perennial favourites such as fish and chips. The Ocean Terrace also serves a delicious English Breakfast daily, as well as an a la carte menu for lunch and dinner.

Also on offer in the Ocean Terrace, the incredible Curry Buffet, including authentic Tandoori Chicken, continues to attract fans from far and wide. Using delicate hand-blended combinations of spices and fresh herbs, the extensive selection of Curries includes, meat, fish and vegetarian option - making each curry a masterpiece!

The Ocean Terrace is also the perfect backdrop for a relaxed sundowner overlooking the rim flow pool and sea.

    Food ordered off the a le carte menu was cold, and our waiter seemed very inexperienced, and had to be reminder of drink orders

    We attended the Ocean Terrace for the Curry Buffet as a special occasion for our daughter's 30th birthday and the visit from her in laws from India. The family are of the Jain religion and therefore are strictly vegetarian. The day before our visit, I went to see the maitre' d of the restaurant to let them know that we had a group of vegetarians coming and to ask if there was a possibility for more vegetarian options at the Curry Buffet. I was told that a vegetarian biriyani would be made for that night. When we arrived for dinner, there were limited options for the vegetarians, one of them being vegetarian samosas which they tried, only to find that they were eating meat samosas that had been incorrectly labeled. This caused some distress as they had confidently started to eat what they thought was a vegetarian samosa. The mother in law told us she had never had meat in her mouth before this night, which was very upsetting for us and distressing for her. The waiter did his best and vegetarian samosas were brought out to her and a vegetarian biriyani was offered. However, overall for the meat curries and the vegetarian curries, the quality of the curries was poor and the biriyani was not eaten despite them trying to politely eat it. We have had better curry for a quarter of the price in a very humble restaurant - in fact, we had better curry in a bunny chow. It was a special night as the Oyster Box is iconic but the evening has become a bit of a family joke as we continued our journey around South Africa where all meals were compared to the OB with our guests telling the restaurants that we visited, "we have eaten at the Oyster Box but this meal is far superior". I would not recommend the Curry Buffet to anyone and suggest the OB really re-think their buffet offerings or significantly adjust the cost. One member of our party chose not eat to the buffet and was satisfied with their meal but felt that it was overpriced for what it was. Overall, our drinks and cocktails were lovely and the ambiance of sitting on the terrace looking at the lighthouse is memorable, but the meal was the most expensive of our two plus weeks travelling with the poorest quality meals.
