The President Hotels Doggy High Tea

Tails are wagging as Cape Towns most pampered pooches gather for an afternoon of canine cuisine. The event features specially designed menus for both pups and parents. Canine guests will be treated to a selection including tail-wagging terrine with chicken liver and sauteed spinach and canine croquettes featuring salmon and sweet potato, while dessert promises strawberry banana bites, peanut butter pup cakes and more. Meanwhile, human guests can indulge in an equally impressive spread featuring gourmet offerings such as vol-au-vent with roasted mebos chicken and fermented peach aioli, melanzane tartlets, and finger sandwiches with smoked trout and lemon cream cheese. The sweet selection includes citrus cheesecake, traditional buttermilk scones and decadent milk tart eclairs. This event marks the beginning of the summer season and coincides with exciting developments at the hotel, including renovations to create a stunning new pool area that will further enhance the poolside experience for all guests. The Doggy High Tea is priced at R300 per pooch and R350 per parent, with booking essential as spaces fill quickly.

    We had a wonderful experience at The President Hotel. Every staff member was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The breakfast buffet offered a great variety of delicious options, and the atmosphere throughout the hotel was beautiful and relaxing. A special touch was when the team surprised my husband by singing 'Happy Birthday' and presenting a beautifully plated brownie - such a thoughtful gesture! Thank you for making our morning so memorable.

    The high tea started half an hour late @2.40pm Waiters did not inform us about the delay or the process of how the high tea would be served. I had to ask the waiters if beverages would be served while we wait. I don't think they were sufficiently trained as they were not aware when the high tea would start. The staff was uninformed about the request of substitution I requested prior to booking. The seating area was not as luxe as befitting a high tea. I think a different area where the velvet couches are would be more cozy for a better ambiance. The food was tasty especially the Savoury coarse. Scones were a good size but cream was not sufficient for size of Scone. I would gladly pay a little more as I think the portions were quite minute especially the cheese thumbprint dish. I've been to many high teas before and would have liked a little more effort as befitting the rest of the hotel.

    The food was absolutely amazing fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every bite felt like real quality and care had been put into it. The atmosphere of the hotel was just as impressive. The setting is elegant yet welcoming, making the whole experience feel special – it was truly giving a 5-star hotel experience. What really stood out for me was the staff. They were positive, warm, and always ready to assist with pure smiles that made me feel genuinely cared for. Their service truly added to the enjoyment of my visit. I would definitely recommend the President Hotel!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
