Pan-Asian cocktail lounge and restaurant situated in the iconic Mount Nelson, a Belmond Hotel. By Chefs Warehouse.

Halal: To note that while we can accommodate diners with our vegetarian or pescatarian menus which do not include alcohol or pork in their preparation, our kitchen does use these ingredients and we do have a bar on site.

    I wanted to love this so much. And it wasn't a negative experience, it simply didn't blow me away. I expected great things after some of the reviews I've read and it didn't deliver. The venue is gorgeous. If you're looking for a spot for a romantic date, this looks the part. The welcome upon entry was professional, but not warm. We opted for the 5 course tasting menu with dessert. The one dish my son and I both adored was the tuna served 2 ways. The rest was good, but for the price, underwhelming. The service was very efficient. I don't mind splurging on a great meal occasionally, but this was not worth the price tag. There are too many fantastic places to choose from in Cape Town to settle for mediocrity.

    It’s an Asian culinary experience as you’ve never experienced before. It’s naturally expensive, but highly recommend the 4 Course with the Wine Pairing. Very memorable.

    The Red Room is a stunning setting let down by underwhelming food. The main waitron who looked after us was fantastic however his team of servers seemed rather undertrained and disorganised. The location is on the basement level and without airflow or working air conditioner the lack of oxygen and temperature wasn't great. If those shortcomings could be improved we would recommend The Red Room

    The Red Room: GO THERE. It is such a treat. The food and service are beyond excellent, nest level! We enjoyed every minute of it. It is quite dark in the restaurant, but that adds to the whole atmosphere. Good luck to everyone at the Red Room. Siep and Yoli

    We had a great evening, food was amazing and we felt very well looked after. Worth a visit just for the interior/decor alone. Special shoutout to Mandy1 and her twin sister Mandy2 for taking care of us.
