The Restaurant at Newton Johnson enters an exciting new chapter under the direction of Alex and Ella Rykaart, the husband-and-wife team behind Rykaart’s Restaurant in Stellenbosch. Set among the vineyards of the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, overlooking Walker Bay, the restaurant will continue the Rykaart’s philosophy of honest, seasonal cooking and warm, generous hospitality. Chef Alex Rykaart’s food celebrates balance and restraint, drawing on classic technique while allowing exceptional ingredients to speak for themselves. Guests can expect a small, seasonal à la carte menu of vibrant small plates, considered main courses, and understated indulgent desserts, all designed to complement the elegant, site-expressive wines of Newton Johnson Vineyards.

    Matthew the chef and his team really did an exceptional job! So nice to see young people in the kitchen, makes me excited for the future. Food was fabulous & service exceptional. The view as always tops from Newton Johnson! Thanks every time we visit - we love ❤️ the experience. Highly recommended.
