Morii at The Vineyard Hotel offers an Italian-inspired dining experience shaped by Cape Town’s seasons, produce and sense of place. The name Morii speaks to the desire to hold onto fleeting, beautiful moments, which is exactly what the restaurant celebrates through handmade pastas, slow-proved breads, house made charcuterie and cold-fermented wood-fired pizzas. Fresh, ingredient-led dishes offer familiar comfort with a lighter, expressive touch, from a reimagined Caprese to a deeply comforting tiramisu.

The drinks program is crafted with the same attention to balance and enjoyment. The wine list brings together Italian expressions and Cape favourites chosen for character and terroir. The cocktail menu centers on the Negroni, offered in thoughtful regional interpretations, alongside lighter spritzes and classic digestives including grappa and limoncello.

    I am so sad that you changed the cuisine. Morii was my favourite restaurant and I always brought friends because it was incredible every time I went. I was so disappointment and sad with my meal last night. I ordered the Carbonara and felt like I paid R245 for a Woolies Mac ‘n Cheese. That was not a carbonara in any sense. The focaccia was dry, the butter was hard as rock. Really tragic.

    The former Chef of Morii, who invented an excellent and unusual middle eastern high class menu, works now abroad. It was replaced by a common pizza, pasta, italian cusine which is not even very well executed. This is not the top quality that would fit the beautiful garden, service and the hotel. It is on the level of a neighbourhood Italian restaurant that everyone has around the corner. Unless you come for the view & Garden and it is not worth it.

    We had the most incredible meal at Morii last night, for a date night. We went with the small plates, and they were all delicious and more than enough in terms of portion size. The caprese salad in particular was really good and done in a very unusual way. The service was impeccable. I can highly recommend.

    Our second visit to Morii- our first experience was far better. This time there were far too many servers without direction and talking to each other. Also the music came over as just a noise.
