This is a real find. The setting is small town rustic but with panache. Our waiter was really special. Great experience

We found it very inappropriately that your Bookkeeper Lady occupied the best 4 seater table in the Restaurant at the prime Dinner time with Exel sheets, phone and Lab Top to do her work while guests had to sit at the slightly to small Dinner Tables. Guests

The Small Restaurant responded on Fri 27 Mar 26:
Dear Leonhard, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We sincerely apologize for the discomfort caused during your dining experience, please allow me to clarify that the individual you referred to was in fact a guest, and not a member of our staff. That said, we fully understand the situation may have appeared and how it may have impacted the overall ambience. At our establishment, we are committed to ensuring that all guests enjoy a relaxed and uninterrupted dining experience. Your feedback has been noted, and we will be attentive in managing table allocation during peak service times to avoid similar situations in future. We truly value your feedback as it helps us improve, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for more seamless experience. Warm regards Management.

We stayed at the Robertson Small Hotel and ate both breakfast and dinner at the Small Restaurant. We found the dinner menu to be rather small and restrictive and if staying more than two nights, would have struggled to find something different as there are no daily specials. We were also disappointed that they only had one choice of rosé wine on the wine list. The food was very nice and the service was friendly and timely. I can't say the same for the breakfast serving which was slow, disorganised and nobody seemed to know what they were doing. The small buffet lacked bowls, glasses and various other things that were needed and, despite asking several times, these things failed to materialise. Luckily we were not in a hurry as the cooked breakfast took well over 45 minutes to arrive despite the fact that there were only three tables occupied. There seems to be a lack of management and nobody seems to be in charge. They even had a problem providing toast. I despair.

We had reserved in the courtyard but since it was unusually cool that evening we were placed inside. But not in the main restaurant but in the foyer of the hotel where we sat at a lonely table. Service initially was good but after I had my starter nothing else happened for one hour. My partner did not have a starter and was getting hungry. When we complained after 1.5 h everybody seemed to be very surprised. The food then arrived within 5 minutes (had it been secretly waiting somewhere?) and was delicious, but nobody said sorry. We had eaten at the Small Hotel several times before and it was always a good experience but this time unfortunately we left with a bad impression.
