Located on Bree Street, The Wiggle Room is a new 12-seater chef’s counter dining experience where fine dining loosens its tie and settles into something far more exciting. Chef Ismail Amos, AKA Fish, cooks to the rhythm of his own music playlist – no set menu, no repetition, just music, good food and serious skill. The full experience is R2850 per person which includes your pairing. Expect a 7–8-course dinner that changes weekly, where each dish flows naturally into the next. Alongside him, Lester – virtuoso mixologist and sommelier – crafts bespoke cocktails and wine pairings for each course. This is fine dining, but with some wiggle room.

    What a dreadful place. Not a single food warming device in sight except a blow torch. Alcohol being served with every dish was terrible. Sparking wine rough as a bear’s back side, chenin flat, and then finally when we decide of we had enough before the next course out came some colourful cocktail with a take on a boerie roll which looked like a Vienna cooked with a blow torch covered in some sauce served with a piece of brioche. We didn’t touch it and left. Apart from that real dark black rap music being played loud so you can’t hear yourself speak. R2000 for 2 and we hardly ate anything. We left and went across to hacienda and spent some more money which was worth it.

    Simply one of the best meals and experiences we’ve ever had. The Wiggle Room is a must, we will definitely be back. The entire team were amazing.

    As usual, the staff is amazing, catered for our every need, created some of the best flavors we experienced so far and made sure we had a pleasant experience. Thank you all once again for a unique experience. We will definitely come back!

    Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish and looked after so well by Fish, Snow and Njabs Food was very inventive but could still taste each element of the dish and great wine pairing too

    This was an experience… we enjoyed the concept - music and vibey… different to other fine dining experiences. The chefs were attentive, interactive and well versed in flavour profiles. I was hoping for just a little more out of the dessert. I look forward to going back next time to try their new menu.
