The Wild Fig Restaurant is a fully licensed Restaurant and Bar situated on a portion of the historic Valkenburg Estate. Our bar is situated in the original barn which is a National Monument. We have beautiful outdoor seating areas as well as private dining areas. We cater for all manner of events such as functions, conference, weddings, cocktail functions, breakfasts and celebrations.

    We were there for breakfast. Food was delicious , but portions were on the small side for some of the meals ( like smashed avo & mince on toast). We were the only people there, with 9pax, but the food didn’t arrive at the same time - people had finished eating by the time the eggs Benedict’s arrived. Plates were nice & hot. Their social media has not been updated to mention that they are open for breakfast.

    Had my dad's 80th birthday celebrations at the Wild Fig. They were very accommodating and service was excellent. Guests enjoyed the lamb shank, pork belly and steak. Fish wasnt that great though but prices decent. Would definitely eat there again. Thanks again.

    We were a group of 5. We all ordered a different meal. The only disappointment was the Chicken and Mushroom pot pie. The taste was not pleasant and one couldn’t identify the flavour other than it was sour. The chicken and mushrooms all tasted the same. I am a simple eater, chicken should taste like chicken and veggies should be individually tasted. This was not the case. However I would still rate the venue, service and food highly. And I will go back but not for the Pie.

    I held my mom’s 80th birthday at the Wild Fig yesterday for 33 guests . It was a great experience and everyone enjoyed the food and the ambiance. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back . A true gem in Observatory .

    We are having our monthly lunch at the restaurant with the Trojan lunch group since quite a while and always satisfied with the food and service.
