Very relaxing experience. We went for breakfast and stayed for lunch too! At no time were we badgered to order but when we were ready to order our waiter, Eric, was there! Lovely setting - we"ll be back soon!

Whilst the food is excellent and interesting, and the old buildings very cool, it's the welcoming staff and warm atmosphere that just make "Fig" a real favourite for us.

The restaurant is difficult to see as there is not a single sign at the establishment to say go here and walk in this side. I had no clue where to stop and find the entrance.

I have no idea of the cost of the meal, as I was a guest. But the fritters mistook starter was outstanding. I enjoyed the fish of the day - yellowtail - which was a very generous portion, succulent and tasty, atop a bed of baby potatoes and onions, beautifully cooked. The tenderstem broccoli was a bit of a non-contender, however. Dessert was the lemon posset, which I've had before and absolutely loved. So that was a no-brainer for me. My hosts (out from the UK) were equally enthusiastic about their meal choices. The wine, Black Pearl, was delicious from the very first mouthful, suggested by the manager and chosen by my host. Our waiter was attentive but discrete, with a great sense of humour.
