The Wild Fig Restaurant is a fully licensed Restaurant and Bar situated on a portion of the historic Valkenburg Estate. Our bar is situated in the original barn which is a National Monument. We have beautiful outdoor seating areas as well as private dining areas. We cater for all manner of events such as functions, conference, weddings, cocktail functions, breakfasts and celebrations.

    Thank you for this opportunity ... not to criticize, but to offer some positive suggestions. The food prepared in your kitchen is flavoursome and good but you could work on the following matters in order to improve patrons' dining experiences. 1. Place a little vase, with a little greenery, on each table - not necessarily flowers. 2. Provide proper table napkins. Your serviettes are too small and inferior. 3. Play soft, soothing music. Not everyone likes jazz. Also, on Friday night, different music could be heard coming from the kitchen. Two competing sounds, for patrons seated near the kitchen, wasn't lekka. 4. Honour a table booking. I received 3 reminders from you regarding the booking I had made, but it was patently obvious when we arrived that the waitron had to scurry and find us a table near the kitchen. Her excuse, that "we had to re-arrange," was a lame excuse. P.S. You can become one of the premier dining out venues in CT, if attention is given to these matters. Good luck and best wishes. .     During our stay of one month and half, we visited many restaurant of different prices and class. The Wild Fig is far away the best. Quality of food , ingrdients, presentation, quantity, price, service are always excellent. This is due to the professional of the manager. Grant and th quality of the cook. We will definitely visit the restaurant again during our next trip to South Africa in 2025.

    We were too touched by the staff, who were patient with us, as some of our party were delayed. They served us with excellent food and kindness, despite the fact that the kitchen was soon to close. They were also so kind and helpful to my PhD graduate's mother, who is disabled with a walker. They gently and kindly assisted her both up the ramp to join us, and as she was leaving, down the ramp. What a lovely evening Highly recommended!

    What a gem!! Beautiful and serene ambiance, excellent service but most importantly the food was once again divine! Generous portions of delicious food. Excellent value, especially in delightful surroundings. As good for a group event or a date night, which is hard to accomplish. Will definitely become a regular spot on my trips to Cape Town.
