Tigers Milk is the best destination for ‘dude food, made good. Since opening the flagship restaurant in the seaside village of Muizenberg in December 2014, 8 more eateries have opened up by popular demand, and to the delight of foodies in the Cape and Gauteng. The key trend being the iconic and spectacular location of all of the stores, that give locals an escape from the ordinary.

The brand epitomises handcrafted goodness with a menu that takes pizza, grills and burgers to the next level, pair these with a locally made Tigers Milk Lager and youre sure to leave satisfied.

    The starter calamari was okay, the main prawns were overcooked with cold lifeless chips andnonion rings. The burger roll wasn't fresh at all and the starter Mac n cheese balls were a waste of time in chewing and money, completely tasteless. The starter battered jalapeños were the worst, tasteless, too much cream cheese in soggy batter.

    Food was on par with the price. We went for the R250 for 2 steak special and had the sirloin. Although it was incredibly full of Sinew, one cannot expect much from a 200g steak for R125 pp. Our main complaints is with the service. We asked our waitress if the special was running and if we could order it, to which she simply responded "yes, i'll put the order in for you" and walked away. She did not ask for our choice of meat cut, temperatures or sides options. We were fortunate that she returned to collect the menus soon after, at which point we could then request her to please take down our choices with regards to the order. We also placed our drinks order with her simultaneously ( 1x Hunters dry, 1 x cocktail), this took 30 mins to be brought to us — mind you, there were max 5 tables throughout the entire duration of our stay (only one of which was a 6 pax). While i understand cocktails generally make a drinks order take longer, this was ridiculously long for a slow night in the restaurant. When the food came our sides were ice cold (chips and onion rings). When we asked for the bill the waitress again took 30 mins to bring that to us. Overall, it was a pretty poor experience. We did not complain in store, as we both work in the industry we know that honestly there isn't much a place like this can do to amend the errors, and we did not feel like it was worth making a big scene over. The meat was fine, which is what we went there for anyway — affordable date night. Would I return for anything other than a quiz night? Probably not. DinePlan has asked me to write a review so I am, do with this what you feel like.
