Tigers Milk is the best destination for ‘dude food, made good. Since opening the flagship restaurant in the seaside village of Muizenberg in December 2014, 8 more eateries have opened up by popular demand, and to the delight of foodies in the Cape and Gauteng. The key trend being the iconic and spectacular location of all of the stores, that give locals an escape from the ordinary.

    Unfortunately, the overall experience was below average. I ordered the Amazeballs, which tasted genuinely unpleasant, and the gyro was extremely bland with an overwhelming amount of onion. Service was also disappointing. We were served by multiple waitresses, which led to confusion. Our food sat on the pass for over six minutes with no one bringing it to us, while staff were instead chatting or singing karaoke. Our order was also mixed up, and something as simple as water took a very long time to arrive—one of my friends never even received theirs. To make matters worse, the bill was presented with a 10% tip already written in, without giving us the option to decide ourselves. As someone who works in hospitality, I firmly believe tips are earned. Given the level of service we received, it was not deserved. Overall, there were too many issues to justify the experience, and we didn’t feel it was worth raising further concerns on the night.
