Located in the seaside village of Glencairn, overlooking the sweeping views of False Bay, Tintswalo Summer House breathes new life into the historic Glencairn Southern Right Hotel originally established in 1904. Blending heritage architecture with modern design, Tintswalo Summer House will offer 12 individually styled guest suites, and the Summer House Eatery, lunch, and dinner in an elegant and relaxed setting.

When visiting us, please note we are a cashless enviroment. Unfortunately we will not be able to accommodate children under the age of 12 during dinner service.

    Had a really lovely lunch at Summer House. The ambience is really bright and light, the service was exemplary. Wonderful menu and very hard to choose because there were so many choices and they all sounded divine. I had grilled hake with the most delicious salad I’ve ever had. My friend had the mussel pasta which was also very very good. The Gansbaai Sauvignon blanc was very refreshing. The only thing that I can point out (as a true coffee lover) is your coffee is awful! I ordered an Americano but I think it was just a filter coffee. No beautiful froth on the top and very watered down. But otherwise a really, really good experience.

    I booked for an early lunch and arrived even earlier, but the staff offered me to settle down in my preferred area the time the lunch table and service was ready. They brought me the menu, so that I can take my time to choose and they launch the order as soon as the lunch service opens. I had the time to stroll around the premised and I must say that I was blown away by the decoration, the colours, the style and the taste the previous hotel has been revamped. Well done to the designers. There's a feel of Mount Nelson in the pinkish shades by the swimming pool... I've been allocated a nice table by the window - offering a great view on the ocean, but still protected from the wind. The space is open, wide, and very light. We are definitely in the theme of "Summer house". My order arrived quite quickly. I was very happy with my truffle raviolis. Super tasty and generous. Regarding my dessert, I was disappointed. I ordered the baklava pancake, with MCC poached nectarines, but instead, I had thin slices of row pear, without warning me about any change in the recipe or lack of availability. The staff was friendly, but the service is to improve. Some examples: My bottle of water was placed in a free-standing ice bucket next to the table, which is a sign - in most of restaurant - that the waiters will top up your glass when empty, but nobody came and I didn't know if I was meant to do it myself (which I don't mind), The olives remained on the table up to the bill. To me, it has to be cleared before the dessert arrives. The restaurant was quiet with a gentle nice atmosphere music in the background, but it was covered with the staff conversations and laughs + which I didn't find very professional. I still enjoyed myself and I will probably come back to try the breakfast menu.

    feel like we are regulars there ! everything about it is wonderful. Staff know us now and we were offered a complimentary glass of bubbles on arrival. We thought that to be a nice touch. Definitely our favorite place
