    I love the food at Thomson's, so much so that when I go, my friends and I order the whole menu. So I was disappointed when we were still eating, enjoying our time and waiting for more food to come out to be told that our table had another booking and we had to leave. This was not mentioned to me when I'd booked the table a week prior nor was it mentioned when we arrived for our booking. We were only told 1hr30min into the booking that we had 30 more minutes the eat and leave. The food was incredible as usual, but being kicked out ruined the experience.

    Food as always was terrific and the service was also great! One of our favourite restaurants in Cape Town, definitely a hidden gem. I'd like to recommend that an aircon is installed or some type of fresh air system as it was incredible stuffy especially the round table at the back. Usually the doors are open but they were closed due to it being too windy. Please look into this, it would make the ambience so much better and the experience way better too.

    We understood that our table was booked until 8pm, which was fine, but we noticed that the table behind us, who arrived before us, wasn’t asked to leave at all. When we asked how guests are able to book longer slots (like that table clearly had), no one could give us an answer. Instead, we felt rushed out, to the point where the waitress offered to pack up our food and bring it next door. We declined because the whole experience felt off and unnecessarily uncomfortable.

    We had diner at Tomson last night with our friends. I was quite disappointed as the meal was very average, apart from the prawn toast starter which was delicious. We also ordered wontons, spring rolls, Mongolian chicken, chilli beef and the duck. It was a very hot evening and the ventilation in the restaurant was non existent as we were sitting at the table at the back of the restaurant. At various times during the meal our party of 4 were all coughing from the chilli fumes coming from the open kitchen. We had heard such positive reviews so were quite disappointed.
