Our story began in 1977 when four brothers opened the first Turn ‘n Tender in Johannesburg.

Since then we’ve become known for our love of great steak, excellent taste in wines and our warm and welcoming atmosphere where customers become friends.

We are the place for all those special celebrations and everyday occasions, because here is where you create a lifetime of memories over a meal.

    I had a very special time. They made my birthday very memorable and Mohau our waiter was so friendly and patient with us. The moment where they sang a happy birthday song for me and how beautiful my desert looked ,was the highlight of our afternoon. Everything was on point the food met our expectations..

    Steak was overcooked. Service was slow even tho place was very empty. Had to look for waiter everytime we needed something. Food was not at the expected quality

    We have often eaten at Turn ’n Tender in Sandton and absolutely love the steak. It’s always been our go-to spot, and I’ve consistently rated it as the best steak. However, I must admit that this was unfortunately the worst meal we’ve had there. We shared the 700g steak, and it was extremely tough, over over cooked, like i was fighting with my teeth to chew through— not the usual soft, juicy, perfectly prepared steak we’ve come to expect. My husband had the rib eye and he was equally disappointed. The veggies we told was cream spinach and butternut, more like steamed spinach and butternut.. What also added to the disappointment was that the waitress seemed ready to clear our plates almost immediately after we started eating. It felt rushed, which took away from the relaxed dining experience we usually enjoy there. I still believe in the brand and will continue supporting Turn ’n Tender — and I will always tip, as I was once a waitress myself. I just hope this was an off night and that the quality and experience return to the high standard we’re used to.

    Everything was beautiful even the complimentary ice cream was nicely decorated and tasted amazing . Waitress was nice and sweet, assisted us with kindness.
