Our story began in 1977 when four brothers opened the first Turn ‘n Tender in Johannesburg.

Since then we’ve become known for our love of great steak, excellent taste in wines and our warm and welcoming atmosphere where customers become friends.

We are the place for all those special celebrations and everyday occasions, because here is where you create a lifetime of memories over a meal.

    The service was great. From making the booking to leaving the establishment, it was a 10/10 experience. Our waitress, Fatima was amazing, I wish I could give her 100000 stars!! The food was incredible!! My family and I will definitely be coming back!

    We visited Turn ‘n Tender Steakhouse and was quite disappointed with the quality of food. Despite the promising menu, what was served fell far short of expectations. The dishes lacked flavour, appeared poorly presented, and in some cases were not served at the appropriate temperature. For example, my main course was lukewarm, and the meat was overcooked and dry on the sides and raw on the inside. The Chicken Schnitzel — coated in breadcrumbs and fried to golden perfection. Or, as I like to call it, “the edible flip-flop of fine dining.” It arrived looking like it had just returned from a spray tan appointment — evenly golden, slightly overconfident. The breading was so crispy it nearly filed for emancipation from the chicken. And the chicken? Let’s just say it had the emotional depth of a parking lot — dry, flat, and wondering where it went wrong. Cutting through it was like slicing a loaf of stubborn ambition. Bite after bite, my son began to question whether the breadcrumbs were sourced from actual bread or perhaps recycled sandpaper. It’s clear that little attention was paid to either freshness or seasoning, which made the entire experience underwhelming. The service was courteous, but unfortunately, it couldn’t make up for the sub-par food. For the hype, I expected much better. I hope the kitchen seriously reconsiders its standards — because as of now, I wouldn’t recommend Turn ‘n Tender Steakhouse to anyone looking for a satisfying dining experience.
