    Last night at Uva Mira ouside Stellenbosch was one of those rare evenings that stays with you. We attended the sunset-dinner experience; our table was perfectly positioned to see the sunset over False Bay, but the mountain was cloaked in fog, clouds rolled in and a fine, gentle rain settled—so there was no view. Oddly, that too became part of the charm. Driving up through the mist set a moody, intimate tone that suited the evening. From the first course to the last sip of wine, everything felt effortless and perfectly timed. The food was absolutely great: thoughtful dishes that married flavour and restraint, each course arriving with just the right balance of surprise and comfort. The wines complemented everything beautifully; the sommelier’s choices showed real care and deep knowledge. Service from Willem was friendly and attentive without ever being intrusive, which kept the mood relaxed and easy. Ambience deserves its own mention. Even without the promised sunset, the foggy, rain-softened light and the gentle glow around the tables created a curated, cosy atmosphere rather than a missed expectation. It all added up to something I’d call terrific, totally unpretentious. All in all, a proper five-star evening—memorable, delicious, and worth every moment. Highly recommended if you want a special night out in Stellenbosch.

    WE had (another) extremely pleasurable experience and found Marissa to be very professional, friendly and well informed about the (lovely) wines and the farm in general. We sat in the Sun Room which provided us with a beautiful vista and coupled with the lovely background music lent itself to a fine experience.

    What a beautiful spot with magnificent sea / mountain views. The platters and wines were delicious too. All topped off by fantastic care and attention. A five star experience.
