    The restaurant is very tired, it’s in desperate need of a revamp, however the staff and food were lovely. Lilly is a super waitress and the chef is gracious and accommodating, and the meals were delicious,

    I had the squid heads fried, the chef could do better with the amount of oil on the plate from a presentation and dietary perspective. Overall the food was great, loved the Paella and side chillies it came with, beautiful flavours all together. Some work can be done on the tables and chairs, some consistency in the styling that aligns with the Portuguese theme the restaurant is built on.

    The waiter was not the best and he tried to help himself to our change of R100.00 until my husband followed him around to give it to us. However, we alway enjoy the food and ambiance. Nelly is the best manager ever.

    As always Vela Restaurant never disappoints. The food, staff and the live performance on Sundays always top notch. Will go there over and over again
