Book a spot on our famous picnic lawn, on our picnic benches or in one of our private picnic pods.     Although a bus full of people arrived at the same time it did not bother at all. The service was really good and friendly

    Wat was dit heerlijk zeg! Wat een top locatie. We hebben een smaakvolle picknick gehad. Was wel heel veel. Dus je zou best een mand met z’n tweeen kunnen delen. Heerlijke wijn erbij geschonken gekregen. Flesje gekocht om heerlijk mee te nemen naar eigen land.

    The vegan and vegetarian picnic is very impractical - no finger food with real plates and cutlery whilst sitting on the ground - it was a disaster. Unfortunately the food was unpalatable and expensive with no dessert - we only enjoyed the bread. Would definitely NOT recommend at all.

    Plus: diversity of food; Nice cussions, plaids and umbrella. Tips: food presentation, ambiance of picnicspots (we were 1 meter in front of a fence, our spot was not cleaned (dirty dishes and chips all over the place)

On the other side, the area not being clean has been thrashed out with the Front of House team, there are no excuses for that. The fence however is a requirement for safety and security. Not having any children wander off and get into the water is a primary concern.     The views were amazing and a really nice place to have the picnic. There was plenty of food, a really wide variety and good value although I think it would have been better to take out a couple of dishes and include a glass of wine instead. It was all quite warm, as if it had been left on the side for a while before being boxed and brought to us which didn't feel hygienic. We did not get the warmest welcome and when we were given the bill and told the waitress the amount of gratuity, she was very condescending and told us what she would expect rather than what we had said. If we had had amazing service then we might not have minded, but we didn't so being pressured into a higher gratuity didn't feel nice.

While the days can become hot in our region, the meals should always be served at an appropriate temperature. Our Hospitality Manager has addressed this with the team, and remedial action has been taken. Please rest assured that there should never be any pressure regarding gratuities.     Absolutely beautiful setting, the wine was good, and the service from Louise was excellent (thank you again, Louise). However, the food stuffs in the picnic basket left a lot to be desired.
