Zioux is a restaurant with an Asian inspired menu. We serve sushi, sashimi, dim sums and main dishes from the wood fired grill. Salads and poke bowls are also on offer together with interesting Asian snacks.

We went for dinner and, after spending time looking through the menu and deciding what to order, were informed by the waiter that there was no sushi rice available. Considering that sushi makes up around 70% of the menu, this was extremely disappointing. Many of the non-sushi dishes were also sold out, leaving very few options to choose from. The lamb chops were average at best and lacked freshness, especially in what was otherwise a very rich meal. Service was also poor. Once we had finished eating, our plates sat on the table for quite some time without being cleared. Eventually, I had to get up and find a waiter myself to get any further service. Overall, the experience was well below expectations, particularly given the prices charged. Between the limited menu availability, average food quality, and inattentive service, I would not return and cannot recommend it.

I reserved a table and we arrive a bit late. My table was given away and I was out in the cold smoking area. I was never offered the table when it was available and the restaurant seems to cater to their own people and basically not all paying customers. The service is the worst, cater for a 30mins wait on drinks and I do not recommend go there unless you’re just there for vibes but even that. The DJ’s aren’t that great but the vibes are good

Starters were quite tasty. Main courses were a major disappointment. Lamb Teriyaki with 'Ziox' chips, was slivers of lamb chop, overcooked, with McDonalds french fries. For R400? Ambience is poor - restaurant is terribly laid out. Music over-bearing. Over-priced, under-delivered. Maybe it's just a place to be seen at? It's certainly not one I'd recommend for a good meal.

The ambience was top notch, however the food was not what we had expected, just because they had used Saint Menu when we needed the Zoux Menu. Service was great as we were compesated with a free meal.

Very lovely just don’t understand why I couldn’t change my booking on the app from 8-8:30 because it said the restaurant was fully booked it was absolutely not fully booked it was actually quite till 9:45 - 10. You are making a mistake by making it looked booked up when it’s not at all you are hindering business for yourselves

Vibey! Zioux had a lot of traffic, so this is a personal opinion of my visit. Food was good, but not as i expected. The menu lacked variety and depth, but what i ate was delicious. Drinks were overpriced for the size, but incredibly flavoursome. Service was great to start with, but towards the end we seemed to wait longer than comfortable, possibly as the place got busier, but I am not sure. We sat for about 20 minutes with empty drinks near the end of our evening, which prompted us to leave. A few patrons were sitting at tables with only a bottle of sparkling water while on their phones, which was weird.

What was meant to be a special birthday dinner at Zioux turned into an incredibly disappointing experience. From the start, the service was below par — slow, inattentive, and lacking the level of professionalism you would expect from a restaurant positioned within the same group as establishments like Marble and Saint. Unfortunately, the food did not redeem the experience. It was underwhelming and certainly not reflective of the “fine dining” standard the restaurant appears to aim for. The most concerning part of the evening, however, was the billing. We explicitly ordered a specific whiskey listed on the menu at R75 per shot and made this very clear to our server. To our shock, we were billed R275 per shot at the end of the evening. This resulted in us being overcharged by more than R200 per shot — totalling well over R1200 extra for drinks we did not order. This felt extremely misleading and left us with the impression that we were taken advantage of. Whether it was negligence or something more concerning, it is completely unacceptable! Overall, between the poor service, disappointing food, and serious billing discrepancy, this was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had. I would not recommend this restaurant!
