There was a noticeable lack of professionalism from the moment we arrived at the restaurant. We had made an online reservation for a table for two at the Mezzanine. However, upon arrival, we were informed that our booking was essentially invalid because it was made online. We were told that the Mezzanine was fully booked due to a private event. This raises the question: why was a reservation slot available online if the area was already fully booked? The waitress, Babalwa (if I remember her name correctly), suggested with some frustration that I should have called to make a reservation instead. My follow-up question was simple: if online bookings are not reliable, why offer them in the first place? It feels misleading to customers. She then appeared to make an effort to find us space upstairs, despite already informing us that the Mezzanine was fully booked because of the event. For starters, we ordered the Garlic Prawn Tails. Unfortunately, the presentation was untidy, with the sauce spread across the wooden serving board, making the dish look careless and unappetising. For our mains, we ordered the Pasta Di Pollo and the Lamb Fettuccine. The Pasta Di Pollo was disappointing as the spaghetti was undercooked. Unfortunately, the Lamb Fettuccine had an even worse outcome. My sister experienced severe stomach discomfort afterwards and has been suffering from an upset stomach. We were unable to finish our meals and opted to take them home, only to end up throwing the food away. The desserts were the highlight of the evening. I thoroughly enjoyed the Tiramisu, and my sister enjoyed the Warm Chocolate Pudding as well. Unfortunately, the positives ended there. Between the reservation issues, the poor customer experience, and the disappointing quality of the main courses, the evening fell well below expectations. Overall rating: 3/10.
