Midweek dinners under the stars, Friday nights with friends, special occasions celebrated in style, and a delicious breakfast menu – join us for a memorable dining experience in the heart of Plettenberg Bay.

The main dining room sits in the oldest part of the hotel, in the original building constructed in 1777 as an army barracks for the Dutch East India Company before being converted into an Anglican rectory in 1869. An exquisite, centuries-old stone wall adds warmth and character to the space while the building’s heritage inspires a bistro-style menu that draws on Dutch, English and South African influences.

    Great service received yesterday as l celebrated my 40 birthday. And the food was delicious. We played games with my family as we sat around the fire. Totally enjoyed every moment.

    I love the mussels at the old Rectory, which are usually super fresh. I had the impression they had been frozen , as they looked liked prepared at the fishery. I am looking forward to eat your fresh mussels again…
