Midweek dinners under the stars, Friday nights with friends, special occasions celebrated in style, and a delicious breakfast menu – join us for a memorable dining experience in the heart of Plettenberg Bay.

The main dining room sits in the oldest part of the hotel, in the original building constructed in 1777 as an army barracks for the Dutch East India Company before being converted into an Anglican rectory in 1869. An exquisite, centuries-old stone wall adds warmth and character to the space while the building’s heritage inspires a bistro-style menu that draws on Dutch, English and South African influences.

    What a lovely experience from start to finish. The seating was comfortable, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting—quiet enough that we could easily hear each other without ever feeling empty or lacking ambience. Despite a chilly evening, the team thoughtfully brought over a heater to keep us warm. The staff were genuinely friendly, attentive, and eager to help, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the prawn linguine, and the pasta was perfectly al dente and packed with flavour. Every dish we tried was beautifully prepared and presented, and we especially loved the little bread rolls—something a little different and absolutely delicious. We could easily have eaten ten of them! This is a true hidden gem in Plett. The menu is wonderfully versatile, offering something for every palate. It strikes that rare balance between everyday comfort food and fine dining—elevated and special without being pretentious or over the top. It's like enjoying an exceptional home-cooked meal with a touch of restaurant flair and elegance. Everything was just lovely. What a spoil! We can't wait to come back.

    We had lunch on a sunday,it was lovely,the food was great the staff were all very friendly and sitting outside on patio was lovely,would definately recommend

    The lamb rib was delicious and the selection of vegetables were fresh and perfectly cooked. The lemon tart was smooth but perhaps could have done with more lemon. An altogether lovely evening
