96 Winery Road has been proudly perfecting winelands dining since 1996 – Yes, the year we opened, not our address. A firm favourite with locals, winemakers and globe trotters alike. We wear our title of "the Winelands Restaurant" with great pride.

From our humble beginning in May 1996, it has been our goal to delight each guest with a superb dining experience. Our dedicated and passionate team have remained steadfastly committed to creating memorable occasions in our warm, welcoming and relaxing venue, set in the heart of the glorious Helderberg countryside. Over the years, we've tested, innovated and adapted our offering to meet the changing needs of our customers and we're extremely proud and excited to share it with you!

    We had a truly delicious meal and the staff were attentive without being instrusive. I would definitely recommend 96 Winery road for a celebratory meal

    Lovely Valentine’s dinner. Excellent food with good portion size. 96 Winery Rd’s food never disappoints. Great wine list too & service excellent as usual

    We were given a very warm and friendly greeting from the lady at front of house, who recognised us from when we last visited 96 Winery Road, 6 years ago. The food was very good overall, the steak was excellent and cooked to perfection, but the Kingklip was rather dry, especially on top, which suggests it was kept warm before serving. Our server was very nice and friendly, but we felt she rushed us through the first two courses, taking plates away before one of us had finished! The dessert on the menu which we ordered at the start, and was the only dessert on the menu, the chocolate mousse, an absolute favourite of ours at 96, was no longer available by the time dessert was served, and we were presented with a very far-fetched story about how it had been accidentally dropped on the floor (a well-known excuse from servers when not enough was prepared!!) We were offered a creme brulee or ice cream as a substitute. We chose the creme brulee which, miracously, was immediately ready and served. It was 'okay', but not what we wanted, or expected, and a poor second to the chocolate mousse. As it was a set menu, with everyone having to confirm their booking, twice, there is no excuse for running out of one of the courses. We were sat in the front room, which now has only 2 tables in it across from the bar, plus a large meat refrigerator, with the rest of the room basically empty, which from previous visits, were the room had many tables, it felt soulless and lacking in ambiance. All in all, it was a disappointment, which was a shame, as 96 Winery Road was, when we lived in Somerset West, easily our favourite restaurant.

    As always we had a lovely lunch with friends. The food was excellent - the New Style Sashimi of Kingklip is really sooo good ! Of course as a main course the famous Hollandse Pepper Filet is a must ! Never in all our visits have we been disappointed, 96 Winery Road is one of our favorite restaurants !
