9th Avenue Waterside is a fine-dining restaurant located in the Durban yacht mole, off the city's picturesque Esplanade. Every feature of the establishment defines its character - from its location in the harbor, to the innovative design and menu and ultimately, to the exceptional dining experience. The intimate setting is complimented by the warmth of the inspired front-of-house team and the kitchen brigade, led by Head Chef, Theodorus Chiloane. Our mission is to inspire people to enjoy and appreciate food and dining, in a new way - from the communities we support producing sustainably farmed food and beverages, to the professionalism and knowledge of our staff, service and hospitality. The upstairs Cocktail Lounge provide the ideal space to de-stress after a busy day, meet with friends or business colleagues or host a private function. 9th Avenue Waterside also offers a variety of spaces for weddings, engagements, business events, product launches and special calendar days.     The starter was great Mains were mediocre- had to take back my steak twice as it was overdone. My partners seafood pasta was quite oily. Service was bad, not enough waiters to service. We waited 30mins for menus. We asked to change tables but were told that they’re all fully booked but only to find that upstairs was fairly empty as also saw “regulars” being allowed to change tables. The ambiance and restaurant looks gorgeous though

    Such a lovely experience. Even though I was alone, I felt truly welcomed and cared for. The service was immaculate, the renovated space is beautiful, from the day beds to being escorted to my table when the food was ready, every detail felt thoughtful. The music and atmosphere were perfect. What an experience! Definitely visiting again when in DBN.

    The ambience and view was amazing The waitress was great, very helpful and kind The food was not great at all, even though the meal was meant to be reach it was tolerable to the tongue and just not nice at all, so very disappointing considering the price.

    Absolutely enjoyed my dinner.The place is so beatiful and well organized. I would recommend a bit of variety on the menu , seeing as it's mostly sea food. Definitely will come back to dine again
