Set on a working wine estate in the heart of the Stellenbosch Winelands, lies a unique cult wine producer called Alluvia Specialist Winery.

Alluvias award winning wine estate and its luxury accommodation provides a match made in heaven, which we simply describe as “the vineyard lifestyle...”

Alluvia encapsulates the complete spirit of wine, our land blessed with tiny fertile alluvial deposits of Table Mountain Sandstone and Granite which gives us a perfect platform to produce world class wines of integrity. At Alluvia we constantly challenge the boundaries of traditional wine making styles; an approach that earned us top honours at the Decanter World wine awards for Alluvias “ilka” Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as The International Wine & Spirits awards and numerous other accolades. Even before its maiden release, our lisa Cabernet Franc was nominated by Wine Magazine as the top Cabernet Franc in South Africa.

    Ordered the Potato Rosti with poached eggs. The rosti was burnt/overdone, so I only had the eggs. Jessica asked what they can offer me to compensate me and I asked for a glass of tap water, Which never came with the teas and coffee my friends ordered. We felt the Waitress seemed annoyed with us there. This was my 2nd visit. First one about a year ago was a much nicer experience.

    The staff are lovely but the value for the picnic basket isn’t worth it. The picnic basket states it is for 2 but the main meal is only enough for 1 person so has to be shared (2x tiny chicken skewers) and the fresh fruit was a few grapes. Did expect slightly more for the price as I’ve had better value for money picnic baskets at other farms. Was also not able to choose the picnic spot by the lake which is advertised on the website. Overall it was an okay experience.

    We had a lovely time at Alluvia! The staff was really friendly and helpful. Our only complaint was the heat outside, but the views made up for that. ps. some advice - Give some attention to your wooden chairs. the backrests look a bit tacky. You could also do with a more extensive wine list. But the rest was all good!

    The service was top notch, with attentive staff and regular check ups. The portions in the food basket was much smaller than our previous visit back in 2023, which was not what we expected. Overall enjoyed our picnic experience.
