Set on a working wine estate in the heart of the Stellenbosch Winelands, lies a unique cult wine producer called Alluvia Specialist Winery.

Alluvias award winning wine estate and its luxury accommodation provides a match made in heaven, which we simply describe as “the vineyard lifestyle...”

Alluvia encapsulates the complete spirit of wine, our land blessed with tiny fertile alluvial deposits of Table Mountain Sandstone and Granite which gives us a perfect platform to produce world class wines of integrity. At Alluvia we constantly challenge the boundaries of traditional wine making styles; an approach that earned us top honours at the Decanter World wine awards for Alluvias “ilka” Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as The International Wine & Spirits awards and numerous other accolades. Even before its maiden release, our lisa Cabernet Franc was nominated by Wine Magazine as the top Cabernet Franc in South Africa.

    Great view, but not happy to be seated in front of the toilets which seems to be an area which is frequented by bees which are a nuisance and can be dangerous since I am allergic. My one customer said he received a Pizza with different toppings to those ordered, but everyone else seemed happy with their meals.

Being placed near the restrooms—especially in an area affected by bees—is certainly not ideal, and we completely understand your concern, particularly given your allergy. Your safety and comfort are very important to us, and we will be addressing this with our team to ensure better seating arrangements and to manage the bee issue more effectively. We also apologize for the mix-up with the pizza order. That’s not the standard we aim for, and we’ll be reviewing this with our kitchen staff to prevent similar mistakes in the future.     We have gone on many previous occasions specifically to watch the moonrise and sit at a particular window table overlooking the mountains. This time round we were seated inside. I cannot tolerate the noise from the kitchen and the sharp lights, so the evening was spoilt. The wine as per the list became exceedingly expensive since our last visit. I had to ask or a more affordable option. Not a place for locals, unless wealthy - for tourists.

    The food, ambience and location was great. But the communication in one specific aspect left a lot to be desired. I went there with a Dineplan voucher having verified online if the establishment is listed under participating restaurants (which it was/is). Even before ordering food when I arrived, I asked once again if they accept the vouchers and even went as far as sending them soft copy proof. After our meal, I was ready to redeem it but they took 25 minutes to process it only for them to come back and say sorry we do not accept these voucher types. What kind of nonsense is that? I gladly paid with my card but the lack of clear communication and professionalism was appalling. If they were unsure, confirm first with your advertising team and return to me so I can plan accordingly. I cannot understate how good the food is, but this incident was very discomforting. Anyone with a dineplan voucher looking to possibly redeem it there should be aware of this because clearly their online information system and on-site staff are not on the same page
