Wine, wine everywhere, tempting wine-lovers with the largest wine bar in the world. Welcome to Belthazar, a veritable theatre of fine food and wine on the cutting-edge of “shoppertainment”. A multi-purpose restaurant, grill, wine bar and gourmet home accessory shop, Belthazar brings a chic new concept in the culinary arts to Cape Town.

Dedicated to the wise man of the magi who was “lord of treasures”, a treasure trove of delights awaits foodies at Belthazar – along with an exclusive catalogue of kitchenware. (We might spell his name a little differently but we like to do things a little differently with a lot of style.)

Owners of award-winning Balducci, a landmark for contemporary dining at the Cape, travelled the world with their team to find an innovative formula which would showcase South African wine in a prime tourist location at the V&A Waterfront. Follow the romantic lamps to a terrace with dreamy views of Table Bay and the rich ambience of a wharf warehouse with thousands of bottles of wine, a glittering store of Riedel glassware, wine aprons, corkscrews, cookbooks and exclusive gourmet knives.

    We returned to this restaurant after an awful prawn experience and just had steak. Steak was great and service as usual fantastic. Would we return probably but will give other places a go first.

    Prawns were mushy, we should know better than to order prawns in a steakhouse as they were awful, also very expensive. Steak was great tho. There was a few of us, some loved their food some didn’t, steak great, impala dry and tasteless and prawns a definite avoid. Service is top notch and so is the ambiance and location. Will go back and just order steak and do another review to be fair.

    Despite the weather the ambiance and excellent customer services received from our Waiter Deborah made up for the gloomy day. Excellent service and value for money.

    Food was good quality and well prepared but service was a little slow, although in fairness the restaurant was fairly busy.

    I foind it very strange to be told you only have one portion of Karoo lamb. The Malva pudding was too dry!

    I used to go to this place since long time . Last time I was not satisfied with the level of food and the bill . I didn’t get any wine despite of that I paid for two people 140 usd One ribeye 350 gr / one lobster half pound . Some side dishes . The meat was nothing special and not cooked very well and the lobster was served with some cream sauce on top that was covering the flavor . The side dish spinach was full of cream fresh that was not good and the dessert were not so good . The nice was the service . Waiters Millon was amazing as usual . I will come back considering this time a chef défaillance to give the place another opportunity because usaully It’s an amazing place with a choice of wine exellent and food very good .

    Very enjoyable and tasty experience, only thing I noticed there isnt any real scenery, no ocean view... something to give a sort of entertainment. Almost feel like considering the limited space a small live performance will add to a warmer ambiance..
