With a few tweaks it can be a wow experience. Robo style service, all done but no interaction! Reception at restaurant was literally unpacking and cleaining the front desk on the floor, and thereafter sitting on two cellphones at the same time. I booked a table and took small gifts to be placed at the table. Reception just commented that we could have any table and can go through and put it on the table - It was if I was disturbing reception! The best experience of the Benguala Cove was the informed shop assistant at the entrance of the building, also where I spent most of my money for the day.

We had a wonderful tome at Benguela, first on the Bonnie and then for lunch. Great service and food, and lovely bubbly and wine. We will def recommend Benguela. It was an all round delightful afternoon!

We really had a wonderfully special Mothersday at a special place. Food was tops! Beautifully presented and flavour combinations that was so different. The service from the waiter was not bad, but the big let down was the speed form the kitchen. We arrived at 12 and we were the last people out there at 4.30pm. Our food took forever to come. People that arrived after us got food long before us. It was as if the kitchen forgot about us. When some of the food came there were also some ingredients on the menu left off, was sent back and then only added on to the plate. I felt sorry for the waiter as it was clearly a kitchen issue. I have always recommended this place, but my last experience leaves me wondering what to say.....

We were very disappointed with the service. It did not feel like a special event. No specific decor or flowers to emphasise Mothers day. It was not a fully book restaurant - our waiter did not follow up regularly. We ordered our meals at 12h30 and waited very long for the starters. The main dish was only served an hour later. The desert was ordered at the same time as the main dish and at 15h30 my husband enquire about the desert which was still in the oven at that time. We left at 16h00 without desert. Garnish on some on the dishes was just “forgotten” Very bad service and we were left with red faces because we had guests from Gauteng and wanted to impress them.

We had a lovely time. Food was good, wine terrific. Music a little loud for a long table. A little cold for with the concrete floor.
