Moody Lagoon is a contemporary restaurant and eatery located within the magnificent Benguela Cove, just 1.5 hours from Cape Town and only 15 minutes outside of Hermanus.


The restaurant is glitzy and opulent, featuring a large veranda with stunning views over the lagoon. Art adorns the entire estate, creating an ambiance of modern South African dining at its finest.

    Worst food we ever had. Everyone’s food was absolutely horrible. The wine was good.

    Very disappointed. Food was mediocre and over priced. I feel robbed. The service was ok, but I’ll never go back for lunch again.

    We were genuinely looking forward to our meal but sadly the ambiance, food and management of the restaurant let us down.

    The food for NYE was simply atrocious! The lamb ordered was basically raw and some of the vegetables undercooked. The dance area was on uneven ground and even the dance floor was not flattened out properly. A beautiful setting however our evening was really spoiled by the very bad food. We did speak to the head chef whose comment was 'we are really busy this evening!'

We always advise that the lamb is ordered medium but some people request it medium rare or rare. It could be that your lamb was mistakenly taken to the wrong table. It was a busy evening and this time of the year our staff always try their best. We don't always get it 100% right but we strive to improve and enhance the experience for our guests on a daily basis.

    We have joined your "New Year`s Eve" event. We did realy not enjoy it. We are dissapointed about. The Discomusic was not good and whay to loud. The loudspaker for the Music had such a bad quality lust terrible. What for we had to pay a "entrancefee" of ZAR 850.- per person. Thats joust a waste of money. never again.

    The food was great we liked the picknick but honestly the location was not as expected also the kids splash area smelled so bad :( the poor server at the pirate kids area is one guy to serve so many people. The restaurant took forever to take our orders for coffees and rinks only and the wait was long and there where three tables to serve in total in the restaurant when we got there so not like it was rush hour. To be honest a little disappointing:(
