Moody Lagoon is a contemporary restaurant and eatery located within the magnificent Benguela Cove, just 1.5 hours from Cape Town and only 15 minutes outside of Hermanus.

    The only downside was that the table was too big. We couldn’t really talk intimately because we had to raise our voices - it was busy anyway - but neither of us likes to have to talk loudly when we’re having a personal conversation. The table could’ve been 2/3 the size ( it was square) and we’d have been more comfortable.

    All in all, the place seemed very „worn“, especially the restrooms. The service was very friendly, but the food itself was not good. The beef fillet tasted only of Black Forest bacon, with no trace of fig or meat flavor. The price-performance ratio is definitely not right.

    Worst food we ever had. Everyone’s food was absolutely horrible. The wine was good.

    Very disappointed. Food was mediocre and over priced. I feel robbed. The service was ok, but I’ll never go back for lunch again.

    We were genuinely looking forward to our meal but sadly the ambiance, food and management of the restaurant let us down.
