Moody Lagoon is a contemporary restaurant and eatery located within the magnificent Benguela Cove, just 1.5 hours from Cape Town and only 15 minutes outside of Hermanus.

    One of the worsts meals I have had - the Easter set menu was very limited with low quality options. The salad was not even a salad and desert I don’t even know where to start. It was unfortunate at the setting is beautiful and there is a great kids area. Also there is limited ambience in restaurant you would be better going to tasting room where they had live music. Definitely not the special Easter lunch it touted itself to be.

We always try with our special set menus to satisfy everyone's needs, but we don't always meet it. We have had lovely reviews from a lot of our guests about the menu so sometimes it is not according to everyone's liking.     The oxtail was a shocker, very poor! Cannot recommend the restaurant, suggest stay away. Pricey, certainly not value for money. Service was good.

Every year we do a once off special menu for Easter and even though it doesn't always tick the box for every customer we have had people who loved the menu. We are an ever-changing restaurant and sometimes we might not be able to please everyone but we still appreciate the service comment.     We had a phenomenal lunch at Benguela Cove with our friends visiting from the UK. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about both the food and wine, and made us feel right at home with a warm, friendly approach. Chef Christo truly made us feel special — every dish was out of this world. We will absolutely be back, time and time again!

    The service in the restaurant was very good. While the food was hot and delicious, the portions were tiny for cost of each meal. For those prices, which are higher than the dining room at nearby Arabella, we certainly expected to receive a more substantial portion.
