Moody Lagoon is a contemporary restaurant and eatery located within the magnificent Benguela Cove, just 1.5 hours from Cape Town and only 15 minutes outside of Hermanus.

    A very disappointing experience, largely due to the quality of the food. Our starter of prawn fritters consisted of four huge balls of batter, each containing a single, small and not particularly tasty prawn. The seared tuna was of good quality and well prepared, but dumped on a mass of green salad consisting primarily of rocket with no dressing. There was olive oil on the table but we had to go and find a staff member to obtain balsamic vinegar. The lamb was over cooked to the point of being almost inedible. Service was patchy. The restaurant is quite large but was far from full when we visited. However, the waiting staff, although pleasant, did not seem focused on the diners and tended to disappear. The meal was very expensive for what it was - the restaurant over-promises given what it delivers. We would not recommend it and shall not return.
