Welcome to The Bistro & Tasting Room at Brookdale Estate!

Ours is a true Cinderella tale … What was once a forgotten vineyard, overgrown and underused, is now a significant site for exceptional wines, creative cuisine, and abundant beauty.

Here, delicious menus designed by seasoned Executive Chef, Gary Coetzee, are brought together with wines grown on the surrounding vines and vinified by our dynamic winemaking duo, Xander Sadie and Shanice du Preez.

We have selected a blend of varietals for our vineyards and locally-sourced ingredients for our menus that honour the region, whilst showcasing new ideas, combinations and techniques.

Sip, taste, savour and discuss our minimalistic, terroir-driven wines which accompany dishes inspired by international flavours and local produce.

The Bistro at Brookdale promises a relaxed, contemporary Cape Winelands dining experience. Expect beautiful, soulful dishes, enjoyed with our wines, while at the Tasting Room, you will sample the latest terroir-driven vintages from our cellar made in ever-evolving styles.

    We entirely enjoyed our food and the farm wines, even bought 12 bottles mixed white and rose and reds. Desserts were delicious!! ! *My husband devoured the Oxtail* the staff very friendly

    Wir haben im Bistro des Brooksdale Estate zu Mittag gegessen und waren wirklich begeistert. Sehr geschmackvolles, modernes Ambiente, Aussicht über die Weinberge. Wir saßen aufgrund des Wetters innen, es gibt aber auch eine Terrasse, beides mit gutem Ausblick. Der Service war aufmerksam und kenntnisreich, als junges Team auch mit der nötigen Lässigkeit und nicht aufdringlich. Am wichtigsten ist jedoch das Essen und hier wurde man glücklicher Weise nicht enttäuscht. Zunächst gab es einen Brotgang mit Oliven aus eigenem Anbau, dazu wählten wir den Country Pate. Klassisch, aber behutsam modernisiert und wirklich gut. Als Hauptgericht wählten wir den Slow Braised Oxtail und Coq au Vin. Mit Liebe zum Detail angerichtet, ausgewogene Portionsgröße aber immer mit dem Bistro-Charakter im Blick, der hochwertige Zutaten und Geschmack über den bloßen Wow-Effekt stellt. Das Preis-Genuss-Verhältnis ist wirklich herausragend, wir bezahlten am Ende ca. 25€ pp. Eine Empfehlung, wenn man in Paarl ist und für uns beim nächsten Mal auch sicherlich einen eigenen Ausflug aus Cape Town wert!

    One of the best experiences that the Winelands has to offer. From the minute you walk in, you are greeted by friendly staff as you make your way into the contemporary designed restaurant. You have a beautiful view of vineyards. The food was absolutely amazing. I made sure to order something from all three courses. Every single dish exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. I can't wait for my next visit.
