Open Tuesdays to Sundays from 08:00 - 11:00 for breakfast and 12:00 - 14:30 for lunch.
Our focus is simple farm cooking in the heart of Elgin and we cater for the whole family.

    We were disappointed as the winter menu sent by email on 3rd July was no longer available. There was a choice of 4 “sharing” mains. We had the chicken pie with salad. Even having had the delicious kudu tartare starter the pie was definitely not big enough for 2 people & the salad of lettuce, a couple of slices of onion & apple with a dressing was under whelming. Also 3 little slices of bread “on the house” was a bit mean. We would have preferred for the restaurant to cancel our booking as we were the only 2 people in the restaurant & the winter special had stopped.

    An enjoyable afternoon with delicious tasting plates. Great for a treat but I fear my partner would leave hungry unless we paid an outrageous amount for more food!

    We thoroughly enjoyed the lunch sharing plates. The Aranchini, Karoo lamb shoulder and chocolate dessert was amazing.

    This was a gathering of friends and family to celebrate an 80th birthday. Bloem did not live up to expectations. My bacon and eggs were overdone, the bacon to the extent that it was really difficult to even cut. The eggs were very unattractive and quite leathery. Service, both in taking orders and in waiting for the food after ordering was very slow. I twice had to get up and go to the serving area to request service. The overall experience was very disappointing. I had expected much more, having dined at Bloem, albeit not for breakfast, on a few previous occasions when food and service were good.
