We at De Vette Mossel strive to offer much more than merely perfectly prepared seafood – this is an experience, in unusual and informal surroundings, where you relax with friends (old ones and newly found ones) where your time is your own and where you may eat as much as you like – just like we do along the West Coast.

The different dishes are prepared and presented one after the other as a rolling buffet. We strive to prepare seafood perfectly, and to serve it immediately thereafter. This guarantees freshly prepared seafood on the plate – an absolute must for exceptional seafood.

    We went as a family of six to celebrate my 55th birthday and it was the best experience we all had. The venue is amazing. The host is impeccable. The staff are so friendly and so helpful. The food is absolutely delicious. One of the nicest days I’ve had and one of the most beautiful places to spend time together thank you to everybody. We had a lovely day and we will return For another session. I highly recommend having lunch at this amazing place.

    The food was bland and not very tasty. Paper plates do not add to the experience, it actually deracts. Despite the beach atmosphere, proper cutlery would enhance the experience. The plastic chairs do not add to the ambience. The tables might be designed do be rustic, but we lost a bottle of good wine due to the uneven table. There was enouhg food, but do you really want to go for "seconds" when it is not tasty? The bread was really nice, but the snoek was underkooked and bland. The fish potjie is not a good idea, all the different items end up tasting the same and are not evenly cooked. But I suppose you get what you pay for.
