We at De Vette Mossel strive to offer much more than merely perfectly prepared seafood – this is an experience, in unusual and informal surroundings, where you relax with friends (old ones and newly found ones) where your time is your own and where you may eat as much as you like – just like we do along the West Coast.

The different dishes are prepared and presented one after the other as a rolling buffet. We strive to prepare seafood perfectly, and to serve it immediately thereafter. This guarantees freshly prepared seafood on the plate – an absolute must for exceptional seafood.

    Hi there people, 5-Star are too little rating for this fun filled place. This cozy, relaxed, family fulfilled little place, nestled in the eloquent area of Hartbeespoort in the North-West represents a small seaside restaurant, possibly at a small seaside village, but NO, but one would wish to be at a seaside. De Vette Mossel - Harties, should be a 10-Star rated place. They offer the extremely best is seaside seafood cuisine and theme, with seaside sand, so everyone can enjoy, the comforts of being bare-foot, fun for the kids and the entire family, young or senior. That's just a tip of the iceberg, when you arrive. When the menu starts to roll, the freshly baked steaming bread, with homemade butter, that's where this hits all parts of your taste buds. That open fire baked bread is heavens blessed as you want to eat more and more every time. But one has to watch their appetite, because you really don't want to miss out on the rest of the menu, the mussels, the prawns, the snoek, veggies, the mixed seafood pot, the calamari, beef potjie, the open fire, and the MoerCoffee (coffee with condensed milk), everything a person needs to just chill, relax, unwind and have a full belly at the end. The staff, chefs and the owners, are so blessed, amazing and so friendly. We love De Vette Mossel, and if you love seafood and the seaside theme (no ocean), you will definitely love and appreciate De Vette Mossel - 10-Stars with a doubt.     It was a lovely experience,food is good and more than enough.Patats and snoek my favourite dish! Potbrood the best. Relaxed atmosphere. Absolute worth the drive.

    Excellent service, friendly staff and best food experience prawns was amazing the mossel pot omw was yummy ,the pot brood fresh baked and delicious ...will gladly suggested De Vette Mossel the kids loved it there play area was good maintained and bathrooms clean and neat

    hallo Guys Sorry I'm so harsh I just expected more The mussels was really tasteless in the shell flavor? than the snoek had no depth amazing when spread wit a bit of herbs and apricot jam Pots was great try the beef pot with no bisto onion soup and maizina better rice bit overcooked and no salt sweet potatoes great stuff Service i really cant mark but did give R50 tip in can Bar was very nice experience Winning idea LOVE it Kobus Vermaak
