Farro is an intimate Modern European restaurant serving a 5 Course Chef's Menu. Owned and run by husband and wife team Alex & Eloise Windebank, the couple have restored a historic Victorian terraced house in Cape Town's Gardens neighbourhood to home their restaurant. Featuring a cocktail bar, an open kitchen & upstairs dining rooms, Farro invites guests to enjoy a refined dining experience in a timeless setting.

    Such a delicious culinary experience! The menu was beautifully designed and it was obvious the dishes were prepared with passion and a knowledge of food paring. Most notable was the Cauliflower Veloute; Kabejou with Caper Cream and Pot Roast Potato - best potato I have tasted and the clever use of the spice sumac and capers made the dish outstanding. The tender, juicy Wagyu brisket was melt in the mouth deliciousness. Biting through the three layers of the Chocolate Dream dessert was a fitting end to our food journey. Thank you to our hosts.     We had a wonderful dinner at Farro. The food was delicious, the service was attentive, and the wine selection was curated, unique, and impressively available by the glass. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making for a really memorable evening. Highly recommended.

    This is my new favourite restaurant. It’s warm & inviting, the service is personal. The wine pairing is intentional, the food is made with genuine love. Everything was absolutely perfect. It made my heart truly happy, we can’t wait to come back! X

    I had such a wonderful dinner there, celebrating my birthday with a group of friends. Ganaan was very obliging in terms of dietary requirements and changing numbers. They printed a menu specially for us, which was a lovely touch. We were given a separate room so that our noisy discussions didn't impinge on other dinners. The restaurant felt as comfortable as someone's home. And the food was just outstanding and so delicious!! I have just been overseas for a month and nothing compares to the quality and value of restaurants in Cape Town.

    A delightfully indulgent find. Intimate and elegant with heartfelt, unfeigned service. The 5 courses were delicious and it felt amazing to support a restaurant bold enough to create a limited menu to embrace seasonal, ethically sourced produce (avoiding food waste) with no compromise on creativity, quality or delight. An absolute highlight was that all the wines were available by the glass, allowing our table of wine lovers to create their own wine pairing experience with each course. Needless to say, too much wine was consumed. Alex and Eloise, you have created something truly special. Thanks for a fabulous evening.

    A restaurant experience like none other. Alex's food makes you salivate for the simple pleasures in life- balance, refinement, flawless execution. Eloise's touch of hospitality is the golden thread through the entire experience, personalised menu's, warm comfortable service- you need for nothing. An old house brimming with charm and modern touches, I can't think of a better setting to have a memorable dinner.
