Folk Cafe is a family friendly restaurant located in St James, beside the iconic St James tidal pool. Folk offers an excellent variety of food, with a focus on using ethical ingredients (free range, grass fed and organic) that are locally sourced and produced wherever possible.

All of the cakes are baked in house and food from the seasonal menu is made fresh, and to order, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The wood fired pizza can't be beat! There is also an extensive wine offering, beer on tap, milkshakes and smoothies for those with a sweet tooth, plus we roast and distribute our own signature coffee.

The location offers a playground for the kids and a sea view for the adults, live music every Saturday afternoon and a large outdoor area to accommodate bigger groups.

    One of our favourite restaurants this side of the bay, food is always fresh and tasty, the staff are super friendly and helpful, would highly recommend lunch or supper.

    The bread served with the mussels, baked Camembert cheese and the chicken livers is very hard, super crunchy and almost unable to be eaten unless you can smother it in sauce. The bread used to be different, a garlic pizza and this was delicious. Currently it feels as if we are being served yesterday’s bread that has just be toasted again

    Everything about this place was a 10 out of 10, the food, the service, the value for money, the ambience… everything. Folk Café? What a gem! The food was absolutely worth it, the service was warm and attentive, and the overall experience 10 out of 10 I would 100% recommend this place and I’ll definitely be back. If you’ve been passing it by like I did, take this as your sign to go in. It’s truly worth it.
