Folk Cafe is a family friendly restaurant located in St James, beside the iconic St James tidal pool. Folk offers an excellent variety of food, with a focus on using ethical ingredients (free range, grass fed and organic) that are locally sourced and produced wherever possible.

All of the cakes are baked in house and food from the seasonal menu is made fresh, and to order, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The wood fired pizza can't be beat! There is also an extensive wine offering, beer on tap, milkshakes and smoothies for those with a sweet tooth, plus we roast and distribute our own signature coffee.

The location offers a playground for the kids and a sea view for the adults, live music every Saturday afternoon and a large outdoor area to accommodate bigger groups.

    The play area has some safety issues, gaps that are too big, badly hung swing that's broken and the net has a huge hole that kids can fall through. I was disappointed with the menu, no more French toast, was one of the reasons I chose Folk Cafe. Also feel like meals are expensive, R40 extra for bacon on a kiddies meal is crazy

Regarding our menu changes, we are committed to continuously updating and innovating to ensure that we offer our patrons the freshest seasonal selections and the most up-to-date customer preferences. We anticipate that our French toast will be back on the menu in the near future. For stock purposes, the portion sizes for our children’s bacon and regular bacon are the same.     From an early morning start next to the fire, to a brunch next to the windows, we were pampered and fed and looked after by Hosia - a gem of a waiter. The food was delicious and the ambiance conducive to staying for hours. laughinggirl_capetown
