While the 18th century Manor House and The Owner’s Cottage reflect their Huguenot heritage, The Restaurant and wine tasting area of Grande Provence project a chic industrial presence.

High-backed chairs upholstered in white leather draw the eye to the centre of the deep blue-grey hand-plastered walls, while deeply recessed windows frame the picturesque view from the interior.

Crisp white linen napery criss-crosses the table tops and the polished glasses and cutlery gleam with care and attention.

Over the winter months the flickering light of a log fire joins the candlelight to enhance the warmth and attentive hospitality at The Restaurant.

Leading off The Restaurant is the welcoming wine-tasting area. The bar dominates the centre of the room – striking in galvanised steel with black strapping. A touch of fun is evident with the tractor seat bar stools, while a fireplace and upholstered chairs soften the perimeter of the room, inviting guests savour every sip of the Estates award-winning wines.

    Absolute fantastic experience! The food is world class. The atmosphere is amazing: tables under the oak trees, a live jazz musician, an oyster/champagne bar and art objects everywhere. A must visit!

    One comment: The advance payment by dineplan was not on the invoice visable! Had to show it after I received the bill!

    I have visited in previous years but the whole experience at grande Provence never fails to delight all the senses. Food and service excellent and for this area surprisingly good value I had a wonderful evening. Thank you

    Accidentally (due to a 'glitch' in Dineplan's website) booked a table for lunch the following day, instead of three weeks' time. I realised when I received an automated Dineplan review email the next day, and promptly emailed Grande Provence to explain what had happened, and asked if my booking could be moved to 6th February, and my deposit rolled. I was informed that as I was a 'no-show' my R1,500 deposit was lost, and I'd need to make another. I requested management review this, given my initial erroneous reservation was made the day before, meaning they were unlikely full (and therefore wouldn't have turned anyone away as a result of my booking). I was told that management had reviewed, and that in line with their policy, they were 'unable to issue a refund or amend [my] booking to the requested date'. Very poor service for what is a nicely located restaurant, and one I used to go to a couple of times a year, and recommended others to also.
