    When I saw the setting on the table of a fish fork paired with a small serrated knife, I was a little uneasy but assumed i would be served a proper steak knife with my R 385,00 T-Bone. But no, I had to battle through the sinewy steak with the baby knife. The chef eventually brought his kitchen knife to assist. I expected a better quality steak from a restaurant of this caliber. Everything else was of a high standard. The reservation process on the internet was excellent.

    Our waitress, Kinnie, was phenomenal! We also thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the amazing food from the kitchen at the Kleinkaap Restaurant. Thank you for an unforgettable experience (^^,)

    This will be my last visit to KleinKaap. This is the second time in a row that my experience was absolutely aweful. The service is extremely slow, the waiter did not speak one word to us, never asked if the food was ok. One patron ordered desert, he could not bother asking if the rest of us wanted anything. He never asked if we wanted a top up drink. He leans over patrons to take dishes away. The food was terrible. I ordered the prawn and chirozo dish, there was 3 prawns in the bowl and no chirozo, the sauce was so spicy that I could not eat it, although they claim it’s mildly spicy. They then claim it comes with roosterkoek, but it came with 3 dry tiny pieces of toast (looked like 3 croutons). When I asked if I could get proper roosterkoek, I was charged an extra R15 for 2 little balls. When the waiter arrived to clear the table, I told him my dish was way too spicy (I doubt they had cream, because one of the other patrons said there was none in her livers), he just laughed at me. The place is beautiful, but the food and service is no good. I’ve complained about the standard of the food preciously, and all you hear is sorry, please come again. I came again and it was worse than before. If you are looking for a place to unwind and have a normal cold drink, great. Just don’t go there hungry.

    The venue is absolutely beautiful but the quality of the food was inconsistent with some dishes being fantastic and others being bad and not worth the price charged.
