Kronendal 1713 is a historic South African braai restaurant and bar in the heart of Hout Bay, Cape Town. Set on one of the area's oldest heritage sites, it combines timeless character with warm, vibrant atmosphere.
Our menu features authentic fire-cooked braai dishes and flame-grilled meats, paired with 26 beers from Germany, Ireland and England, alongside additional selections from Namibia and South Africa, all enjoyed in a unique heritage setting with a lively beer garden.

    Super friendly, relaxed, authentic decor and great service! The meat is cooked “braai style” and perfect every time. Ideal for a chilled lunch with family in the courtyard or a pint of beer at the authentic Irish bar.

    After having some not great reviews from friends about food & service I am really happy to have had a great experience, service by a young Russian man after being welcomed in & seated was superb, a mate and I watched the rugby, drank Guinness and had a burger & chips. Such a great evening. I really hope that this beautiful venue has success its a wonderful addition to the Hout Bay scene.
