    Ladurée is a name synonymous with Parisian elegance, so it is genuinely baffling how far this outpost falls from that standard. From the moment you walk in, something feels deeply off. The decor is a particular disappointment. Plastic pots housing tired eucalyptus, brass detailing already peeling away from the fitout, and faux marble tables that wouldn’t look out of place in a budget shopping centre café. It has all the hallmarks of a stage set — surfaces that look vaguely right from a distance but crumble under any real scrutiny. There is no warmth, no atmosphere, none of the seductive charm that makes a Ladurée visit abroad feel like a small luxury. This feels like a licensed imitation of itself. The offering was equally deflating. Most items were out of stock — remarkable for a premium patisserie at a flagship cultural venue — and what little remained looked dry and underwhelming, as though it had been sitting out far too long. For the price point Ladurée commands, that is simply not acceptable. Service did nothing to redeem the experience. It was shockingly poor — inattentive and seemingly indifferent to the standards the brand is supposed to uphold. If you have been to Ladurée in Paris, Geneva, or even their better London locations, do yourself a favour and skip this one. It trades entirely on the name while delivering almost nothing of what makes that name worth knowing.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
