Unfortunately I don’t have a good review as the waitress was pushing us to order a ridiculous amount of food that we could never ever finish and the bill was an absurd amount. More than a night out in Zurich

Food was fantastic .Ashley our waitress was amazing and so helpful to assist in what to order -especially loved the chicken bucket but the variety of steak ,sauces and salads/pickles were delicious too -music loud for conversation but to be fair was first Thursday and it was a fun vibe with the sax playing too -will definitely go back !

I visited Maru Korean Steakhouse yesterday for a collaboration, and wow… I’m still thinking about it. It was my very first time trying Korean cuisine, and I’ll be honest, I was a little sceptical going in. I wasn’t sure if it would be out of my comfort zone or “not my vibe.” But from the moment we arrived, every expectation I had was completely blown away. My best friend and I had their set menu, starting with the 18k Golden Nugget. The nugget itself was simply the vessel — the real magic was the trout roe on top. Hands down, the best chicken nugget I have ever had, and I genuinely don’t think anything will ever top it. Then came the main event: the crispiest, most flavourful, most succulent chicken; melt-in-your-mouth galbi (Korean short ribs); an array of ban chans (small side dishes); a fluffy egg soufflé; and a comforting seafood stew. The galbi and ban chans absolutely stole my heart, I loved experimenting with all the toppings and flavours, but honestly, every dish could have been the winner. The seafood stew and chicken were next-level delicious. Just when I thought the experience couldn’t get any better, dessert arrived: homemade vanilla bean ice cream topped with soy caramel. Oh. My. Word. I cannot put the yumminess into words. That caramel might actually be one of the best things I have ever tasted — truly unforgettable. Beyond the food, the entire experience was made even better by the incredible service. We felt at home immediately. Nick and Layla took such amazing care of us, and Layla guided us through every step, explaining the dishes and sharing so much knowledge about Korean cuisine. It made the meal feel immersive, personal, and so special. This was, without exaggeration, the best dining experience I have ever had. I will never forget it. If you’re in Cape Town, this is an absolute must-try. To the Maru team: I wish you all the success in the world. Thank you for doing what you do, you’ve created something truly extraordinary
