Maximillien Restaurant launches New Menu
The décor is reminiscent of the old school Balthazar restaurant in New York, and the dark wood panelling, mirrors and red upholstery, as well as the black and white checked floors and intricately pressed ceilings would find you thinking that you had indeed headed back in time to the 1920’s.
What can only be described as one of Sandton’s most well-known restaurants, the Maximillien is a stalwart of fine dining at its best. Floor to ceiling windows allow in soft natural light during the day and create a picturesque view for evening dining. Romantic candle light dinners setting the mood.

    The food did not have any labels hence it was hard to tell what was being served. The food did not have any heating at the bottom resulting in the food getting cold. Seafood options were very limited with only seabass being served. Some of the plates being put out for serving were actually dirty. Overall, the food and the service was not worth the amount that was charged.

    The food was not that great for the value charged the buffet menu was not exactly the same . There was no live station or sushi counter . The waitors were not attentive and we had to ask different waitors / attendants for cutlery to be replaced couple of times and waited for more than 10 + minutes . Even we were not asked water or drinks to be served after seating us . It was bot great service . Food was cold . I will not recommend any one to book for buffet. As it was very unsatisfactory.

    Stunning lunch and venue. Please consider a more efficient cooling system in the conservatory area, it is uncomfortably hot. Otherwise, what a beautiful place with sublime food.
