Maximillien Restaurant launches New Menu
The décor is reminiscent of the old school Balthazar restaurant in New York, and the dark wood panelling, mirrors and red upholstery, as well as the black and white checked floors and intricately pressed ceilings would find you thinking that you had indeed headed back in time to the 1920’s.
What can only be described as one of Sandton’s most well-known restaurants, the Maximillien is a stalwart of fine dining at its best. Floor to ceiling windows allow in soft natural light during the day and create a picturesque view for evening dining. Romantic candle light dinners setting the mood.

    A very underwhelming experience. Fell very short of expectations for a fine dining establishment. Over cooked prawns, seafood pasta was bland and had to ask for condiments like salad dressing etc.

    Service was disappointing. Prior bookings and available requests were made, but none of that was attended to. Compensation was offered in the form of reduced pax charged for, but then the pax fee was increased on my bill beyond the advertised and communicated fee per pax to make up for the discount. The 50

    We did not get the value for our money when it came to food,the prepared menu was bad, not tasty, not appealing and not appetizing at all, it was so dull.

    We had a Mother’s Day lunch in a buffet style. There was starters, main meal and dessert. The food was okay, the dessert for me was just almost horrible. The place is beautiful, we also had live music which was nice. I wish they included water and a drink with our meal. Didn’t like the fact that we had to pay for drinks. We got welcome alcoholic/non alcoholic wine though but it tasted cheap and bad. Overall the experience was nice, enjoyed time with family.
