Chef Pieter Vlok is passionate about food; he transforms simple ingredients with great skill into exquisite and effortlessly presented meals.
Pieter adds unique and authentic flavours to a variety of mouth-watering dishes, which reflect a South African personality. His ideas are bold and fresh and it is important to Pieter to present ‘real’ food perfectly.
We produce everything ourselves. And sometimes, when we can’t, we source only the best. 

Thoughtful care is taken over preparing our own stocks, sauces, ice creams, and even ageing our meat. We bake fresh foccacia, farmstyle and sourdough breads daily.

As ingredients are sourced mostly from the Boland area the menu changes regularly according to the availability of fresh produce, which keeps Pieter and his team challenged and inspired. Ingredients are delivered to our doorstep on a daily basis; our herb garden, however, sits right outside the kitchen.
For inspiration, we cast about in South African, Asian and European cuisine.

We strive for excellence in our food, wine and service in a relaxed atmosphere. The chefs are enthusiastic and love what they do.

    Stunning views, excellent food. Waitress was attentive in the beginning but it changed as the restaurant filled up. Overall, a lovely lunch in a well established place. Will definitely recommend

    We went for brunch on Saturday morning. Love the fact that it is kind of hidden away and nestled close to the mountains. Service was friendly and efficient. We were made welcome and greeted by every staff member who passed us. I had the wild boar sausage with sage, and mash and baked beans. It had a delicious onion relish over it. My aunt had the French toast. Both portions were very generous in size. The restaurant has a clean and fresh feel, with artwork of various artists on the walls for sale. Were warmly greeted by the manager as we left. Will definitely spread the word amongst my friends about this lovely place. I found the pricing also reasonable.

    The food was excellent 👌 the atmosphere amazing breath taking views we always choose to sit inside but outside was amazing and it was a beautiful Sunday morning first time having breakfast at Mont Marie the service was not so great the server was very moody she had a unfriendly demeanor there was a guy that checked up on us he was amazing very friendly smile the server didn't once check up on us we ordered our second round of beverages from the friendly guy with the great smile I dont know if its cause we not regulars this was the 3rd time visiting the restaurant I was celebrating my birthday we want to make it our mission to come on my birthday other than the service we had a pleasant experience amazing food fresh and delicious
