Moody Lagoon is a contemporary restaurant and eatery located within the magnificent Benguela Cove, just 1.5 hours from Cape Town and only 15 minutes outside of Hermanus.

    The quantities were insufficient for the price, and the combination of flavours was not well-received. This experience was significantly different from our previous experience at Moody Lagoon, where we received excellent food that was both filling and reasonably priced. I am quite disappointed, as it was my birthday, and I did not have a positive experience.

    Tasting menu was disappointing, a lot of same textures in the different dishes and repetition of same vegetables in 3 of the courses. Not what you expect of tasting menu. Portions was too big for me but with too little variety. Will def not recommend the tasting menu- for the price I expected more.

    Lovely restaurant for a relaxing lunch. But for an up market venue I feel you should offer larger and perhaps higher quality serviettes. Otherwise well done!

    This was our 2nd visit. Excellent food in a stunning location. Service was great. Highly recommend. Good value. Will be back.

    I was a bit disappointed that the menu served (and that I booked and paid in advance) was different from the one offered on the website. Also: they have two dishes paired with the same wine but fortunately, after talking to a manager, a get a different wine from one of the two dishes. All and all it was ok and service was very good.
