    We celebrated my son's 18th birthday at Nikkei Japanese Peruvian on Bree Street yesterday (a Sunday around 1pm), and it was an absolute highlight! The stylish Art Deco-inspired interior, with its elegant dark greens, marble tables, and vibrant atmosphere, set the perfect festive tone - complete with live saxophone music that added a fun, sophisticated vibe without overwhelming conversation. The Japanese-Peruvian fusion dishes were outstanding: beautifully presented bento-style boxes filled with fresh sushi rolls, ceviche, sashimi, and flavorful temaki, all bursting with bold yet balanced tastes that everyone at the table raved about. The cocktails were a standout too - crisp martinis and refreshing aperitifs paired perfectly with the meal. Service was attentive and warm, making us feel truly special on this milestone occasion. Nikkei delivered a memorable, high-end dining experience that's glamorous yet relaxed - highly recommended for celebrations or any special outing in Cape Town!
