    From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere wrapped around us like a warm hug. It’s exactly like visiting your long-lost Greek family: an uncle who keeps pouring shots of ouzo, and an aunt whose cooking fills your soul right up to the brim. The service? Flawless. Attentive without hovering, as if the waiters have a sixth sense for when your glass is empty or you’re about to ask for more bread. And the food… oh my holy soul. The tarama alone – I want it by the bucketload. Creamy, salty, dreamy. The yiro's were spot on: perfect meat-to-sauce ratio, and the halloumi version sang just as loudly. By the time the main course was done, I was already slipping into a happy food coma. But then came dessert, and I was launched into another dimension. Baklava cheesecake. The ek mek. I found myself in the land of milk, nuts, and honey, and I never wanted to leave. Nostos, you have definitely not seen the last of me.

    Absolutely lovely evening. It was so wonderful to be back under the Ragavelas roof. Homely, great food, lovely staff and service. Thank you for brining back the chicken livers we will return soon to try them 😋 wishing you all the greatest success

    We had the absolute pleasure of dining at Nostos, a beautiful new local Greek gem, and it exceeded every expectation. Spiro and Julie have created something truly special - not just a restaurant, but an experience. From the moment you walk in, the décor transports you straight to the Mediterranean. It’s stylish yet warm, with thoughtful details that make the space feel both elegant and welcoming. The food? Simply sublime. Every dish was bursting with authentic, vibrant flavours… the kind that instantly remind you why Greek cuisine is so loved. You can taste the quality and care in every bite. Generous portion sizes meant we left completely satisfied (and already planning what to try next). Even more impressive was how quickly everything arrived, without compromising on presentation or taste. The service was impeccable - attentive, friendly and genuinely passionate. It was also such a treat to see some familiar faces from their time at Veldt, which added an extra layer of comfort and trust to the whole experience. This is the kind of place you want to return to again and again, whether for a relaxed lunch/dinner or a special occasion. A huge congratulations to Spiro and Julie on an incredible addition to the local Hout Bay dining scene. Highly, highly recommended. 🇬🇷✨ Tam van Wyk
