Every creation from our team of talented chefs is given extra zest by the striking beauty of the setting and stunning views of the Franschhoek mountains.

Rickety Bridge is an enchanting Franschhoek wine estate that earns its place in the Cape's cuisine capital. Franschhoek is home to some of the best restaurants in South Africa. The Restaurant in the Vines has made way for Paulina's, named in honour of the original owner of the property in 1797, Paulina de Villiers. The restaurant spills out from a cosy thatched area onto shaded decks with views over the vineyards and mountains.

    Lunch in the most beautiful setting! The team at Paulina's went above and beyond for my girlfriend's birthday celebration. We absolutely loved our lunch, the gorgeous room, and the surroundings of such a stunning winery. We highly recommend the Rickety Bridge and a lunch at Paulina's, especially to those who will be taking the Wine Tram!

    The food was cold and had to be sent back. The mussels were overcooked. We will not go back there any time soon

    Our pizza and and daily special fish was cold, this after we were only a few couples left in the restaurant after rush lunch hour

We're truly sorry to hear that your experience fell short of expectations, particularly with regard to the temperature of the dishes served. This is not the standard we strive for, and we are actively reviewing the service flow from kitchen to table to ensure this doesn’t happen in future. We would also like to clarify that the Franschhoek Pizza includes smoked salmon, which is served cold as part of the dish. It’s possible this was not clearly communicated, and for that we sincerely apologize. Regarding the fish special, we’ve unfortunately not been able to identify a specific issue, but we are continuing to investigate to better understand what might have gone wrong.
