Take a seat overlooking the Rickety Bridge vineyards. Sip a glassful of crisp estate wine and enjoy a delicious lunch while drinking in the splendour of the magnificent surroundings. Every creation from our team of talented chefs is given extra zest by the striking beauty of the setting and stunning views of the Franschhoek mountains.

Our menus lean into the seasons, wholeheartedly embracing our Franschhoek Valley surrounds. Expect to indulge in traditional home baked breads and local cheeses, the freshest eggs, vegetables and fruits from neighbours and always – the best quality meat and fish we can source. We serve a menu of bistro-style classics with subtle nods to our diverse South African culinary heritage.

The restaurant spills out from a cosy thatched area onto shaded decks with views over the vineyards and mountains.

Very disappointed after asking for a table outside, birthday cake and a little special treatment for my wife’s birthday, after returning after 3 years from the date of our wedding at Rickety. All requests were completely disregarded. Very disappointing with service, ambiance and general manner of prsonel

The Restaurant at Rickety Bridge Estate responded on Sun 29 Mar 26:
Dear Grant, Thank you for your feedback, and we sincerely apologise for such a disappointing experience on your wife's birthday, especially after celebrating your wedding at Rickety Bridge three years ago. Having all your requests completely disregarded — the outdoor table, birthday cake, and special treatment — is completely unacceptable. The poor service, ambiance, and manner of our personnel fell far short of what you deserved on such a meaningful return visit. We're truly sorry we let you both down so badly and understand how deeply disappointing this must have been. Kind regards, Rickety Bridge Team

Enjoyable meal for 6 and 2 children at a reasonable price. Our waiter was very busy serving other tables and we would have liked more of his attention, though it was a Sunday!!

It is a beautiful setting. Maybe due to bigger groups of people the food offering was not as good as the previous years when we visited. There was live music that was very dominating to the experience. We did not stay long. We had burgers, was tasty, found the bread buns an odd combination, mussels were good but a bit too heavy cream for our taste. The Chardonnay was very good.

The Restaurant at Rickety Bridge Estate responded on Mon 09 Mar 26:
Dear Adine, Thank you for your feedback. We're pleased you enjoyed the beautiful setting, Chardonnay, and tasty burgers and mussels. However, we're sorry the food offering didn't match your previous visits and that the live music was too dominating. We appreciate your specific feedback about the burger buns and cream sauce; these details are helpful as we refine our menu. We hope you'll give us another chance to provide the experience you remember from previous years. Warmest regards, Rickety Bridge Team

We enjoyed the beauty and surroundings at Rickety Bridge, the scenery is amazing. Personally, for us, we found the wine tasting area too crowded and noisy especially when the wine tram appeared with exhuberant passengers. The dining area was more relaxed and peaceful and the food and service fantastic. My risotto was delicious and my husband's steak au poivre outstanding.

The Restaurant at Rickety Bridge Estate responded on Wed 04 Mar 26:
Dear Avril, Thank you for your lovely review! We're delighted you enjoyed the beautiful scenery and that the dining area provided a peaceful experience with fantastic food and service. We appreciate your feedback about the wine tasting area being crowded and noisy when the Wine Tram arrives — this is helpful as we work to balance different guest experiences. We'd love to welcome you back to Rickety Bridge! Warmest regards, Rickety Bridge Team
