Take a seat overlooking the Rickety Bridge vineyards. Sip a glassful of crisp estate wine and enjoy a delicious lunch while drinking in the splendour of the magnificent surroundings. Every creation from our team of talented chefs is given extra zest by the striking beauty of the setting and stunning views of the Franschhoek mountains.

Our menus lean into the seasons, wholeheartedly embracing our Franschhoek Valley surrounds. Expect to indulge in traditional home baked breads and local cheeses, the freshest eggs, vegetables and fruits from neighbours and always – the best quality meat and fish we can source. We serve a menu of bistro-style classics with subtle nods to our diverse South African culinary heritage.

The restaurant spills out from a cosy thatched area onto shaded decks with views over the vineyards and mountains.

Our 4th year on the trot. Previous 3 fantastic but the service this year not good. Told that due to kitchen being busy all good had to be served at the same time. Food arrived but no cutlery. Lots of staff standing doing nothing whilst our poor guy given no support

The Restaurant at Rickety Bridge Estate responded on Tue 24 Feb 26:
Dear Colin, Thank you for your feedback, and we're truly sorry your fourth visit didn't match the previous three fantastic years. Food without cutlery and staff standing idle whilst your server struggled unsupported is unacceptable. As a loyal guest, you deserved far better. We're addressing this with our team immediately. We hope you'll give us another chance to restore the standard you expect. Kind regards, Rickety Bridge Team

Very disappointing experience. Unprofessional staff, untidy restrooms. Indoors dining area is rather poorly thought through, - very dark and uncomfortable. The estate is beautiful, but that simply doesn’t make up for their downfalls.

The Restaurant at Rickety Bridge Estate responded on Fri 20 Feb 26:
Dear Nargiz, Thank you for your feedback, and we sincerely apologise that your experience was so disappointing. Unprofessional staff and untidy restrooms are unacceptable, and your concerns are being addressed with our team immediately. Regarding the indoor dining area, we appreciate your feedback — as a historic building, we do face certain limitations on modifications, but we're always looking at ways to improve the ambience and comfort within those constraints. We're sorry we didn't meet your expectations and hope you might give us another chance in future. Kind regards, Rickety Bridge Team
