Rickety Bridge is an enchanting Franschhoek wine estate that earns its place in the Cape's cuisine capital. Franschhoek is home to some of the best restaurants in South Africa. The Restaurant in the Vines has made way for Paulina's, named in honour of the original owner of the property in 1797, Paulina de Villiers. The restaurant spills out from a cosy thatched area onto shaded decks with views over the vineyards and mountains.

    We last visited about 15 tears ago (we are from Pretoria) and it seems as though not much improvement has happened in the intervening years- the restaurant looks tired and very much in need of an uplift. Sorry but you asked.
