    Unfortunately the food was quite disappointing. The dishes lacked flavour and were not very appetising, which was a bit of a letdown. However, I must say that the service was excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive, and very welcoming throughout the experience.

    Booking my birthday dinner with Ntando and the reservations team was an absolute breeze, seamless and easy…the dinner service from Thuso was absolutely fantastic also grateful for the management team…thank you so much

    Dear Fire & Ice Menlyn, i was terribly disappointed with my experience at your establishment. the promised Valentines dinner was way below par and not even close to a 5 course meal. there items on the menu were missing, the service was extremely poor. the salmon had so many bones in them you could choke on every bite. the server was missing most of the time and when we need to leave because we had a show to attend at 20h00 our food arrived at 19h45 with all the bones it took more time to remove this than eat. no palette cleansers as advertised. no plated entree, everything was chucked on a table and half was missing. lied about scallops. the service was so slow we could not get dessert. after the show we went for drinks at the bar, we had to wait 30minutes to order and then another 20minutes for the drinks! Pathetic ! One person taking orders for the entire bar and restaurant? pathetic ! I would never recommend your establishment to anyone as it was nothing short of disappointing.

    Utterly dissappointed with with the restaurant at Protea Hotel Fire&Ice Menlyn. I was staying at the hotel, decided to go for lunch prior to a surprise 60th drinks and supper later in the day. After waiting an hour for my lunch, was finally told that the order had not been placed by the waiter. When the invitees for the 60th arrived, cocktails took over an hour to make. When food for the group of 10 finally arrived, all Meals except for 1 were brought through. Management apologised, but 1 guest still went without eating.

    I'm not one to make reviews but I am very disappointed with Fire & Ice. You sold us dreams for our milestone birthday. When we came to view the venue you indicated where we will sit and told us that the area is reserved for us. How is it that on the day of the event, you make us sit with a large group next to us, knowing very well that we were also a large group. Both groups had milestone celebrations but the noise of the music and the groups ruined everything. The buffet looked like it was catered for 20people. When we went to dish up some of the items were already finished and could not be refilled. This was money wasted honestly, I did not even taste any of the dessert options because when I got there everything was finished they even cleared the table. I will not be booking an event there again. The only one good thing is that our waiter was available to us throughout. But anything else was a mess, from getting our complimentary drinks wrong (non-alc instead of alc), to being squashed with a larger group, to the food. I'm afraid I have nothing positive to say to you all except for the waiter' being available.

    I booked for dinner on Saturday 31 Jan and we were a family of 5 .The restaurant was too loud due to a number of big group birthday celebrations hosted so next time one will just have to avoid Saturday evening. It felt like we were in a Pub.
