Quills Restaurant, in uniquely African fashion, offers guests the opportunity to experience spectacular restaurant dining in Kempton Park, Johannesburg at InterContinental O.R. Tambo Airport. An 18-metre (59 foot) porcupine quill mobile suspended from the ceiling of the restaurant sets the tone, as does the dramatic collage of traditional African masks. The spirit of Africa – its energy, originality, and passion – is reflected in its authentic cuisine.

Guests can enjoy delicious breakfasts, cosmopolitan lunches and contemporary dinners. Specialising in local dishes paired with outstanding South African wines, the restaurant’s distinctive atmosphere is one that reflects the warm hospitality of South Africa’s City of Gold. Quills Bar, meanwhile, serves an excellent variety of cocktails, local wines, ciders and beers, and provides the ideal opportunity to relax, socialise, or simply spend quality time with friends and family.

    We had a very good experience here whilst in transit at the airport. We were 4 adults and one child and were particularly impressed with the good range of food choices on the menu for all of us. The decor at Quills makes for a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere which is exactly what we had hoped for. Food quality was excellent and service was good. Staff were very friendly.

    We had a nice dinner experience. The waiters were attentive, though towards the end of the evening our waitress (Pinky) seemed to have disappeared, and it took rather long to clear the table and get the bill. My husband was a little disappointed with his Caesar's salad and the gnocchi were adequate rather than excellent. However, my starter (duck soup) and main (Nasi Goreng) were very enjoyable, so I am sure we will return. Good selection of wines. I would just like to add that as we were staying at the hotel, we also had breakfast the following morning which was truly excellent!
