Quills Restaurant, in uniquely African fashion, offers guests the opportunity to experience spectacular restaurant dining in Kempton Park, Johannesburg at InterContinental O.R. Tambo Airport. An 18-metre (59 foot) porcupine quill mobile suspended from the ceiling of the restaurant sets the tone, as does the dramatic collage of traditional African masks. The spirit of Africa – its energy, originality, and passion – is reflected in its authentic cuisine.

Guests can enjoy delicious breakfasts, cosmopolitan lunches and contemporary dinners. Specialising in local dishes paired with outstanding South African wines, the restaurant’s distinctive atmosphere is one that reflects the warm hospitality of South Africa’s City of Gold. Quills Bar, meanwhile, serves an excellent variety of cocktails, local wines, ciders and beers, and provides the ideal opportunity to relax, socialise, or simply spend quality time with friends and family.

Group bookings are welcome.

We are not too keen on the new menu The daily orange and corn soup tasted like thickened orange juice. Too tart and not good at all. Even when we returned the two full bowls they charged us for it. The seabass which used to be great with tasty lemon olive sauce is now curried. It’s clear on the menu but somehow just doesn’t work together One highlight was the vegan pork belly. Which was a bit dry but a creative twist for vegetarian Goat cheese salad was great Overall not sure why some of the staples were swapped out. The meats we saw at the next table looked nice but many of our favorites are no longer available. Service was always great as usual but somehow the menu has taken a turn for the worse. We hope they bring back some more ‘traditional’ fair
