You’d battle to find a place with a better balance of relaxed groovy vibe, top notch food, drinks and service, and breath taking mountain vista. What a plek! Thoroughly enjoyed the live jazz band. Thank you Rick’s!

The starter ribs were nice My burger (if I compare it to Banana Jam & other places I go to) I was over cooked and completely lacking flavour. On top of that they are 40% more expensive to similar places so for me it was the first and last time I would eat there. My wife has the squid to start and the chicken tajin. Her main meal was far better prepared to mine and far better value compared to my meal however still more expensive to other places we frequent. Overall we wouldn’t go back there for food.

Rick's Cafe Americain responded on Sat 26 Apr 25:
Dear Paul I was surprised to see your price comparison with Banana Jam, but after checking their website, I found our prices are quite similar. Considering our different location and rent costs, that's notable. Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your burger - it's rare for us to get complaints about our dishes. But we employ only humans in the kitchen, and mistakes can happen. If you'd spoken up to your server or any of my managers, we would have happily replaced the burger. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to rectify the issue since you shared your feedback only on the Dineplan app. Have a great day

This is an old time favourite spot of mine. I remember visiting Rick's when they were still in their old building. I stumbled upon them after leaving a group of VIPs that I was chaperoning at Fat Cactus and needed a bite to eat.The owner was sitting on the 'stoep' in front and we started chatting and ever since then, (sorry FC) I used to take our groups here, all the way to the roof top. The vibe is best at sunset in my, always want to have fun, opinion. They have happy hour from 3pm (I think) Please check. Think Cuban, Moroccon, American and Mexican-fusion. I have traveled a bit myself and Rick's Cafe Americain - Restaurant & Bar, Cape Town reminds me of my travelling days. The decor is stunning, and something different. This business has survived so many set backs, (nevermind c19) but due to the owners dedication and passion, his love for good food and his staff, they have survived every one of them. I love the new location! Just look at the view. Table Mountain goosebumps. I have been visiting them for the past 13 years (gosh correct me if I am wrong) and have always had absolutely amazing service and delicious meals, prepared with care and love and plated with detail. Do yourself a favour and try their platters! Mondays is burger special day, buy one get one free on selected burgers. Well, on all of them, except the double patty one. It was delicious, also the best Aperol spritzer that I had in a long time. Meals are super affordable and try to go when the lights are all on and the Cape Tonians are out. You will, just like me, drive from the other side of CT to visit, and leave with a massive smile on your face. Take friends, places like these are meant to be shared with others. ♡ Jana

Love the concept - very atmospheric, complemented by delicious food and great jazz. Beware the Blue Motorbike cocktail though....

Sehr schöne Atmosphäre, breite Speisekarte. Die Mezze Platte reicht sehr gut für zwei Personen.
