    Arrived at the restaurant and there was no AC and one single fan for the whole second floor. Not only was there a hole in the floor that my guest's heel went straight through, but there was also a thick layer of dirt and sand on the seat in the corner. The excuse was "we have renovations starting next week so it is a bit of a mess". We didn't stick around for dinner.

    Dear Cara, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m truly sorry to hear about your experience and would like to clarify a few points. Our restaurant is located in a heritage building with an AAA rating, which means we must preserve many original features. During our renovation 5½ years ago, we were not permitted to alter the 135-year-old wooden floors. While they are structurally sound, the natural gaps between the boards can sometimes be less comfortable for guests wearing very fine heels. We’ve never received complaints about this before, but I do understand how it may have affected your visit. Regarding the air conditioning, we have applied for permission to install a system, but because of heritage restrictions, this has not yet been approved. We continue to work within these guidelines to keep our guests comfortable. I also sincerely apologize for the sand you noticed near your seating area. Our cleaning team follows a strict schedule, but in older buildings like ours, strong winds can occasionally bring in fine dust through tiny gaps. This should not have been overlooked, and I will ensure it is addressed. We are constantly giving this historic villa the care and attention it needs, and we truly value when guests share their observations—it helps us improve.     We had such a wonderful evening at Rick’s celebrating a dear friend’s birthday. The atmosphere was filled with good vibes, delicious food, and plenty of laughter. Playton was outstanding, and the entire team—front and back of house—delivered flawless service. A well-deserved 10/10 all around!

    We truly appreciated the team's diligence and assistance in hosting us; we thoroughly enjoyed out time (despite the unbearable heat). The team was very accommodating and kind, and the efficiency and friendliness made all the difference to us.
